With #HurricaneLee, storm surges are possible and may have significant impacts.
Floods are possible in low-lying areas. If storm surges do arrive, don’t put yourself and first responders in danger by going to see the waves. #NSStorm
For safety during hurricane Lee, all trails on Crown land that are managed under agreements with NRR will close at 7 pm today. After the storm, check with your local trail organization about reopening or check with @NSTrails for longer term closures.

Nova Scotians, employed or self-employed, who have been impacted by the recent wildfires in HRM and Shelburne County with income interruptions may be eligible for short-term financial support through the Emergency Relief Grant for Individuals. https://t.co/W2Bs0nF9Di
The Barrington Lake wildfire in Shelburne County is now under control. The final size of the fire is 23,525 hectares (about 235 sq. kms.). It is not expected to spread.
Many Nova Scotians have returned home following evacuations to find all their belongings destroyed by wildfires.
Their strength and bravery is our motivation. 💙
The Barrington Lake wildfire in Shelburne County is still classified as being held -- not moving, but still not under control. It covers 23,525 hectares (about 235 sq. km.); the reported size may fluctuate as firefighters reach more remote areas and get precise GPS measurements.
As of June 10, close to 7,000 households required to evacuate had already been approved for $500 in support to help with urgent needs. We're working closely with the municipalities and @canredcrossns to ensure all households within the mandatory evacuation zones are included.
Nova Scotia, our soldiers are here to help!
Our troops have arrived in Shelburne and are preparing to deploy where local officials need us the most. Our objective: lighten the load of firefighters who have been bravely fighting the fires from the very start. #NovaScotiaStrong
