So appreciate all the critical conversations and thoughtful questions at #LibPMC! I am excited for Negeen's presentation in this session (and to share our alternative slide design 😅)
@dynaMau @JB_librarian @ebonymagnus Yes! This was a great presentation. And I loved the shoutout to @jeremybuhler's work on Culture of Inquiry during the Q&A
I found it so valuable to see @OhDearJustNo and @KellyKimberley walk us through & model data analysis through an equity lens. Amazing work & so inspiring #CLAW2019ABCE
Looking forward to digging more into Liberating Structures after @cloudspotblues engaging workshop at #CLAW2019ABCE and really excited to explore the possibilities for future work she outlined here https://t.co/tTh7OT6aKW
@acarbery The figure was cropped to the top 3 for each to make it (slightly) easier to read! RDM-related support came in 5th for grads (out of 7) and 7th for faculty (out of 8)
Still thinking about how vocational awe affects systems as well as people. If we think of ~the library~ as sacrosanct, are we less concerned about the implications of precarious labor on our employees, so long as services, work force etc. continues to grow? #CAPAL19
Another important point from @LISprecarity: precarity is a model of disposable/interchangable labor. So many of these positions are in emerging areas; how can we expect creativity, relationship-building, etc under such a model? #CAPAL19
Appreciate how carefully the @LISprecarity team are scaffolding their research - what the data does/does not include, terms used, when they move from full summary to a subset. Easy to follow & important caveats when exploring their open dataset https://t.co/EU4VQllpqA #CAPAL19
Also loved the story about the small space and the very large table. Instead of insisting it has to go, try it out temporarily to uncover what work the table facilitates & why it holds so much attachment. Is there another way to meet all needs & build trust? #CAPAL19
Great question about barriers to supporting cognitive diversity at #CAPAL19. One big one: perception that any change to a process (hiring, training, workflows) is a degradation of high standards and not just...support
Thanks everyone who came to our #criticalassessment session at #CAPAL19 this afternoon! We loved hearing your thoughts and questions. If you didn't get a change to walk by before the end of the session, we've added the stickies to the shared google doc: https://t.co/SqkE6ZXp5h
