@SolarReaperYT@VisualFidelity@Rambuie911 Because both movie and musics can actually use the physical media to play the content.
Video games today don’t fit on one disc, and the disc reader is not even close to being able to read the content fast enough. So it’s just dumped on the ssd while the rest is downloaded.
@BeansGoodTakes@RockstarGames Rockstar actually the good guys ensuring people can’t get a disc version of GTA VI for their PS5 so they won’t have to buy it again on PS6?
If they offered a disc version it’d be paperweight once PS6 comes out without a disc reader.
@wampaholic@birdwithuhword@MachDominus Sure, but why? What is the purpose of shipping discs that can’t even be used by the console to run the game, the little data that is on the disc itself is just copied to the ssd and then the rest is downloaded.
The disc serves no purpose at all.
@ChainsawTiger@Sony You could’ve owned all those games on your account instead, saved lots of space and could play them on next generation consoles.
Oh well.
@_kop3_@eLCris1017 If you work in tech you’d be aware that pssr 2 was released recently that only works on the pro.
It’s like going from FSR to DLSS. Night and day difference.
@BenPerr26452392@Dexerto Exaggerating a bit there. Standard edition is the full burger with fries, coke and ketchup. Ultimate edition adds sauce for the fries and a special coffee mug.
@MNDarkfire@Yusuke_420@musf1k@_Dyllie_ Cool. Purchasing software has and never will be owning it. You have a license to use said software which can be revoked at any time.
Discs on console have a license on it. That can and have been revoked previously as well.
