Todd Owyoung - Statue of Liberty from four miles away - The shot vs the spot
"The sunset was lighting up the horizon to an incredible orange hue behind the Statue of Liberty. To the unaided eye, this monument is just a speck in the distance. But at an effective 800mm, it’s incredible to see the what feels out of reach pulled closer.
I loved how the atmospheric perspective and light created this silhouette in the statue and subtle layers of depth.
I bought this Nikon 400mm f/4.5 for concert photography, but these days, I love using to photograph clouds, the moon and scenes like this on my rooftop in Brooklyn."
