Trans girls are not girls. Only boys can be trans girls. There is absolutely nothing about them that makes them girls.

You say that excluding these boys from girls' activities only contributes to their mental health issues. I say affirmation contributes to their mental health issues, and I speak from experience.

Why is it that gender dysphoria is the only mental disorder that is treated with harmful and irreversible chemicals and surgeries and affirmations to further their delusion that they are what they are not?

Would we tell an anorexic, yeah, you really look fat, you should lose more weight. No, of course not. Doesn't it make more sense to treat the underlying issue... to get the mind to conform with the body, rather than butchering a body to conform to the mind?

The overwhelming majority of kids with gender dysphoria will grow out of it by late adolescence, so let them.

There are thousands of young adult detransitioners, who were transitioned as kids, and they're mad. But now they're sterile, impotent, have heart problems, osteoporosis, and other medical problems. Many are now trying to sue their doctors that talked their parents into transing them.

You can keep telling yourself this, but you're simply wrong. I'm a left-leaning liberal who's fiercely anti-authoritarian, and if you couldn't deduce that from my work you haven't understood a word of it.

I'm not an ideologue. I mistrust ideologies. I've never met an ideologue who wasn't prepared to deny a bit of inconvenient truth to keep their world view intact and I include ideologies with which I find myself in broad sympathy. On the other hand, I am an idealist. I believe in human beings. We are undeniably capable of terrible acts, but the evidence is that we are astoundingly collaborative and mutually supportive, especially when times are hard.

My values haven't changed; what's changed is the political landscape. What was once my natural home (a pragmatic centre-left party focused on dealing with economic disparity, championing social liberalism and equal rights) is now dominated by an illiberal, identity-based strain of politics I consider elitist, harmful and out of touch with the day-to-day concerns of regular people, particularly women (and I've still lived more than half of my life as a non-wealthy woman, and some of that time was spent in poverty).

There are women with whom I make common cause in the TERF wars I disagree with on other things. Within obvious limits (sucking up to literal Nazis) I don't particularly care about their personal politics. The reality is that there's currently an assault on women's rights unparalleled in my lifetime, and it's coming from both left and right. If ever there was a time for women across the political spectrum to come together, it is now.

@SummersWave I am so sorry! I lost a son at age 29. It is the most terrible pain in the world to lose a child. You do whatever you want to do that brings you some comfort! Hang in there. It gets easier with time. Won't say time heals, but it mellows the pain most days.

I am at risk and survived COVID after vaccination...and had previously nearly died from just laryngitis (asthma). Proof is in outcomes!

@OleksLife But they said that it turns out that the trigger was modified so that it could misfire. Also, it was not supposed to be loaded. This is a terrible accident, not a crime. If the armorer was negligent, then it becomes a crime for her.

@randydu55280024 @megynkelly That did not make sense. Yes, it is a woman's issue, and Megan is a woman. If people transition, they should realize certain things can never be the same as someone born to that sex. Participating in women's sports should be on that list.
