The bitter black pill of this anime is that Gojo has absolutely nothing in common with Marin and his relationship with her is inherently doomed. Gojo sees Marin as a manifestation of his desired self actualized state, what Gojo wishes he could say or do, but cannot due to his own self imposed emotional over regulation. Marin is everything Gojo wishes he could be.

So they’re doomed to fail. It is delusion to think that if only a beautiful girl paid attention to you, everything inside you would instantly change, but the reality is that Gojo’s inceldom is not skin deep, there is something deep inside of him that makes him repellant to being happy and fulfilled. As time goes on, Gojo’s deep insecurities will only crush Marin’s free spirit until she becomes exactly like him.

So the only realistic way this anime ends is with Marin becoming bored by Gojo’s insecurities and leaving him for more thrilling prospects, or Gojo embracing his anima and trooning out.
