@BrianZisook YES! My folks didn't do listening sessions, but did take us to many concerts. I was blessed with such a variety as I grew up. Joan Jett, Beach Boys, EWF, Stevie, Billy Joel, Ariana Grande, Kenny Rogers, + more. Music exposure is one of the best gifts you can give your child imo.
@_OKJ__ I would recommend looking into the Pilate Cycle. While these texts come with questions of authenticity/origin, like many ancient texts, they are at least worth exploring if you're genuinely curious about your question. Especially Acts of Pilate and Letter of Pilate to Claudius.
This is something I've been considering as I put pieces in place for current and longer term plans. I think the artists and teams that will succeed long term are the ones who are able to pivot and find the opportunity, whether that's a focus on local or online.
I’ve talked to several indie acts planning tours for this year, and many are now reconsidering. Between the TSA meltdown and rising gas prices ($4/gallon nationally), the math is getting harder to justify. Touring was already brutal for non-superstars, and now it’s even worse...
Everyday I wonder what I could create if I could devote all my time to my craft instead of spending too many hours a week cleaning food scraps off of tables, just so I can afford to create at all, not to mention live.
There’s a lot of artists right now that aren’t seeing the financial motivation to stay in music. So they’re turning to other things to supplement the income and pouring time into that. Something gotta change with the way streaming works and is paid
This one resonates deeply. My mom passed almost 2 years ago. I been trying to give myself grace as I've struggled to move forward, but it's hard to not feel like I'm falling behind more than I should sometimes.
