Mamata Banerjee is being brutally trolled by the people of Kalna and Shantipur for allegedly misleading them about a ₹1100 crore bridge project between the two towns.

She claimed that a bridge between Kalna and Shantipur has been constructed, but in reality, even the soil testing work has stalled due to pending land acquisition payments.

Locals are now using AI-generated images and videos of the proposed bridge to mock her claims.

In 2016, a boat capsized between Kalna and Shantipur, killing 20 people.

In 2018, Mamata Banerjee announced a ₹1100 crore bridge project at the same location.

Eight years later, land acquisition is still incomplete. Yet again, ahead of elections, she is claiming that the bridge is under construction.

Even today, people are still forced to use boats to cross the river.
