THE WHY IS THE STORY.
Yusuf Pathan sought a municipal plot in Vadodara in 2012. The proposal was rejected by the Gujarat government in 2014. In 2024, the BJP-controlled VMC served him an encroachment notice. The land was valued at ₹20.5 crore.
Now, two months after he quit TMC, Gujarat proposes to GIFT him 500 sq m and sell him another 478 sq m at a 45% discount.
What changed? Why should a disputed public plot be gifted to a politician on such sweet terms?
A few years ago, Ashu had a high-paying corporate job in London, earning millions. Saurav was writing about the country’s legal system and living a great life. Both had successful careers, financial security and every reason to continue living the lives they had built for themselves.
But they chose to give it all up in the hope of making this country a better place. They had absolutely no reason to leave behind their comfortable lives, take to the streets, face uncertainty and eventually end up in jail. Yet they did.
What I admire most about these two is that despite coming from privileged backgrounds, they chose to fight for those who aren’t as fortunate. They could have easily looked the other way, enjoyed their lives and never bothered about the struggles of people they had never even met. Nobody asked them to make these sacrifices. Nobody expected them to. But they did, because they genuinely care about people beyond themselves.
And to me, that is the greatest quality a human being can have. To stand up for people you don’t know, to fight battles that aren’t your own, and to risk everything you have so that someone else might have a better life.
That’s the kind of people Ashu and Saurav are.

ASTONISHING: CJP’s Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das still in judicial custody for trespass and violation of prohibitory orders while waving the tricolour at Jantar Mantar (not an act of violence by any reckoning), and Hindu Raksha Dal members who were caught on camera beating protestors out on bail (an act of brazen goondaism). Yeh hai kanoon??😡

The respect Delhi Police has for gangsters…
Wish they showed even 10% of this courtesy to students and activists who are doing nothing but protest.

#WATCH | Barh, Patna: Jan Suraaj chief Prashant Kishor says, "...For the past 35 years, politics here has revolved entirely around the 'forward versus backward' divide. Look at the facts, Lalu Yadav, from the OBC and Yadav communities; then Nitish Kumar, from the Kurmi community and after 30 years in power, they finally conducted a caste census. It revealed that even today, only 9 per cent of youth from the OBC community, just 9 percent—are completing the 12th grade. For the EBC community, the figure is 7 per cent, and for Dalits and Muslims, it is less than 5 per cent..."
He adds, "...Do you want Samrat Choudhary, who has only passed the seventh grade? Do you want Tejashwi, who has only passed the ninth grade? Or do you want Prashant Kishor? Choose not based on caste, nor by playing the Hindu-Muslim card; instead, choose based on one’s deeds, values, efforts, and character." (16.10)

Our youth has shown remarkable courage in the face of a govt that has only contempt for it. By doing so, the country has been awakened.
#WATCH | Barh, Patna: Jan Suraaj chief Prashant Kishor says, "Every six months, or every year, an opportunity arises to hold the government and the established system accountable. Such an opportunity has presented itself today. You voted for the NDA, and an NDA government was formed... while it may not immediately topple the government or change the existing order, it will send a powerful message. It will instill a fear in those in power: the very people who voted them into office have the power to remove them from it... the leadership entrusted with Bihar—the Chief Minister, those drafting the laws, and the state of affairs that has left Bihar’s youth wandering aimlessly—is being questioned. Issues like the sand-mining crisis, the lack of employment—people are waking up. They are beginning to look beyond caste and religion, and beyond the lure of a mere five kilos of free grain, when they cast their vote..." (16.10)
