Once I was scolded without my mistake by a senior
Later when he realised the truth, he didn’t apologise but said
“Many times u have done mistake, but didn’t get the scolding. So this evens it out”
He said that in jest, but a life lesson to remember
I saw a post on Reddit that said, “When you walk through a museum, you’re not just looking at art. You’re moving through centuries of people trying to explain love, grief, power, beauty, and belonging.” I don’t think I’ve ever seen a museum described so beautifully.
You can read all the books. Watch all the documentaries. Listen to all the stories. But nothing & I mean nothing, will prepare you for certain moments in life until you're standing in them yourself. Marriage. Divorce. Childbirth. Losing someone you love. Parenting. They all look so different when it's your heart on the line. Your choices. Your pain. Your mess. Your miracle. It's easy to sit on the outside with theories, opinions, & assumptions. It's easy to think you'd handle it better. Until life turns to you & says, "Your turn." And suddenly, you understand. You understand the tears. The silence. The fight to keep going. The strength it takes to show up when everything feels heavy. The courage it takes to start over.
Life has a way of humbling us all. So be slow to judge, quick to offer grace, & always remember, what you don't understand today, you just might face tomorrow. We're all just figuring it out as we go. And that's more than okay.
This is going to sound crazy.
But, one of the skills you must learn in the near future is how to cope with an increasingly illiterate society of emotionally dysregulated people.
If you continue to get frustrated on a daily basis over how everything seems dumb, stress is going to silently jeopardize your health.
YOUR DUTY IS TO LOVE YOURSELF
Be egotistical. Take care of your mental health. Don’t be cheap with yourself. Put yourself on a pedestal. Sleep more. Give yourself more credit. Others must respect your boundaries. Meditate. Quit everything that drains you. Spend more time in nature. Delete the noise.
You can’t love someone if you don’t love yourself first.
Real expression of love starts with you.
An old man in our neighborhood died today. He was hospitalized with chest pain three days ago, underwent angioplasty, but passed away in the ICU. His wife had died during the COVID wave, and he had been living alone since then.
His only son lives in Australia and couldn’t come to see his father. Now, I’m not saying that the son is uncaring or abandoned his parents. I don’t know him. Maybe he is really a nice man. The elderly couple used to visit him every year and spend a few months with him. But maybe once you build a life outside, you can’t really come back. Life, distance, responsibilities, things become complicated.
The son hadn’t come to India in nearly 10 years. He couldn’t come for his mother’s last rites due to COVID travel restrictions, and I don’t even know if he’ll be able to come now or will have to arrange his father’s last rites from there itself.
This has stayed with me all day. To think of an old man spending his final years largely alone, losing his partner, and then leaving this world without his son by his side. Even as an unrelated observer, the whole thing feels unbearably sad.
Our existence, our problems, our sufferings, our successes- they are immaterial. The earth will decide one day it has had enough of humans and that will be it
How many times has the US been an intermediary in a War in the past 250 odd years- Perhaps Hardly
How many times has the Soviet Union/ Russia been an interlocutor since 1917 not to talk about Tsarist Russia to end a war - Perhaps Never
How many times has China been a go between in a conflict since Millennia - Hardly ever.
Big and confident powers are actors not brokers.
Small or Middle Powers seeking recognition through mediation .
That should explain Pakistan’s role in the attempted arbitration between Iran and the US .
History is instructive. People should read
Theory very well holds true
Only problem is none of us is ever ready to accept that we do bad things.
If good things happen to u, u won’t say that u did bad yet good happened. Similarly if bad things happen, no one will say they deserved it
In any decent society, the rapist would have been killed and his organs would have been harvested. Instead, the leftist Spanish government is offering assisted suicide (a.k.a murder) to the rape victim and apparently I hear that she can’t back out at the last moment as her organs are already assigned. The West is becoming more and more insane day by day and it is calling it as progress
Girl gets dragged away from her family and put forcibly in a shelter
Gets gangraped by migrants
Tries to kill herself, fails and gets paralyzed
State offers euthanasia, she accepts. Parents try to stop it, state prevents them
Girl is now dead
Godless society.
