Putin was already tricked by Macron and Scholz at the beginning of the war:

1) Macron and Scholz asked Russia to withdraw troops from Kiev to sign the peace deal and end the war.

2) Putin withdrew Russian troops from northern Ukraine trusting Macron and Scholz.

3) The peace agreement from April 2022 was torn apart and the war took its destructive turn.

Four days before the Russian invasion (February 20, 2022) Macron himself told Putin that the Minsk agreements had no legal force and were worthless!
