As part of the C100 next gen leaders, I shared my experience and hopes as a Chinese American in celebration of the #AAPIHM.
We have made so much progress as a community since the gold rush days, and will continue to do so as long as we unite and make our voices heard.
In celebration of #AAPIHM, we've launched a new Q&A series with members and next gen leaders on what the past year has been like as a #ChineseAmerican and hopes for the future. This week we spoke with NGL Vivan Fan, who is Co-Founder & CEO of @goingflex .

@ewarren Absolutely! Besides financial assistance, women also need flexible work opportunities that meet their needs and schedules through a platform such as @goingflex where we are building the future of work that works for all!
“Monthly, means-tested $2,400 monthly payment to the women who are the bedrock of our economy and our society” - very intriguing indeed! 🤔 https://t.co/B9qAPZV4Bh
My son in 6th grade watched the debate with us to get extra credit for social study. I don’t think he will be able to answer any questions that the teacher may ask him about the debate...he kept saying he couldn’t hear anything... wonder why....🤦♀️
A friend shared this hilarious cartoon article with me that depicts pretty accurately on what’s going on with remote learning everyday!
Hope you will enjoy a laugh or two when remote learning is done for the day! 😉

Me: kids, #mulan is coming out on Disney+ today but we have to pay $30 to watch it. If we wait until Dec 4th, then it’s free.
Kids: let’s wait until Dec 4th.
Problem solved! 😊
5. Expectation: set expectation with the kids that they need to independently finish all virtual classes and assigned work but be flexible and offer help when needed.
I'd like to hear what your experience like as well, feel free to comment below.

5 things that I learned after first week of “homeschooling” my kids while working:
1. Space: Each adult and kid needs their own working space so everyone can stay focused. Wear a headset to block distractions.
2. Schedule: Print out school schedules for your kids and put them up somewhere everyone can see. Your kids will have frequent breaks, so make sure they are back to their classes after break time.
