Since it was won in Singapore he could pay income taxes in Singapore and use DTAA to avoid paying taxes on the same income in two countries. Ideally the country which charges him less would be the right move(Tax consultants would be the best bet to answer this not some random internet person like me lol.). Post paying taxes in Singapore Ideally he should incorporate and fund a company in Singapore that way additional taxes can be avoided instead of making a FD in India which gets taxed on interest earned. There are many ways to avoid paying taxes if you are smart about it.
