So it appears that the Kushner meeting with Jeffries may have been to seek a truce so that Democrats will be less inclined to investigate these Republican MF who have broken too many laws to count. BREAKING: PETULANT! Trump's Kennedy Center board threatens to literally DEMOLISH the building if they can't slap his name on it.

If Donald Trump can't put his name on the Kennedy Center, apparently nobody will have a Kennedy Center at all.

In a stunning court filing Monday, prosecutors for the Trump-aligned board argued that a $250 million renovation project — which just so happens to include Trump's name on the facade — is now necessary for the building's very survival. Their filing warned that without it, "the center will deteriorate further into an unsafe, decrepit structure that will be required to be taken down," floating a replacement amphitheater as an alternative.

Let's be clear about what's actually happening here: this isn't a genuine structural crisis. It's a manufactured hostage situation. Trump's board has spent months trying to force his name onto a building Congress explicitly created to honor a murdered president, gotten blocked by federal courts twice, and is now essentially threatening to bulldoze the whole institution rather than accept "no" for an answer.

And the financial reality tells its own story. The Kennedy Center is now projected to fall $100 million short of its profit goals, missing its budget target by 70% and contributed revenue by 25%, a staggering $23 million deficit. This decline traces directly back to Trump's takeover and the name-change controversy — meaning the very chaos Trump's board created is now being used as justification for even MORE drastic action, in a self-inflicted crisis dressed up as an emergency.

This saga has been ongoing for months. Multiple artists canceled performances in protest after Trump's board first tried to close the center back in May. Representative Joyce Beatty successfully sued to block it. Judge Christopher Cooper ruled the board's decision "ill-informed and seemingly preordained," forcing Trump's name off the building's facade — though workers responded with pure pettiness, simply draping a massive tarp over the empty space rather than restoring it properly.

Now the board has voted AGAIN, this time proposing to shut the Kennedy Center down entirely for two years to remake it in Trump's image. Beatty is once again heading to federal court to stop it.

This is what happens when ego overrides institutional stewardship: a national cultural landmark, built to honor a fallen president, held hostage by a board more interested in vanity than preservation — willing to threaten demolition rather than simply let go.

I wanted to use Trump's threat to levy 50% tariffs on Canada and Canada's in-his-face response to discuss the underlying behavioral reasons for Trump being so fixated on tariffs.
Trump has no strategy or depth. He has cravings. And two of the cornerstone cravings for Trump, especially now that he's playing out his final chapter on Earth, are greed and grandiosity. These two things, which interrelate, underly almost everything - he is a giant id.
He wants awards, he wants things named after him, he wants oil from this country and a piece of this company and $10B here and billions more there, and all of that is but a subset of what he really wants, which is the knowledge, belief, and portrayal that he can do whatever the f*ck he wants - the ultimate grandiosity.
The legacy media always tries to understand Trump's stubborn fixations by normalizing him and asking: "What's he thinking?" Allow me AGAIN: Trump doesn't think; HE FEELS. He lusts. He craves.
And he likes how tariffs make him feel, because he can be a bully, impose his will, make and remove threats, and cause countries to do his bidding and pay him tribute arbitrarily. THEY FUEL HIS GRANDIOSITY.
How much more American consumers, businesses, and importers pay, is immaterial. None of that matters to Trump. Prices don't matter. Inflation doesn't matter. People don't matter. America doesn't matter.
Bullying, imposing his will, being the center of attention, and threatening others, is the essence of what a malignant narcissist does. Carney knows that and realizes that this is where America is at present.
It's like America didn't even elect a person. It elected a thing, a parasite, a pathology.
