I agree, identity politics is why PH lost.
BN has a clear identity - power.
PAS has a clear identity - religion.
What is your identity?
Reforms? You said don't rock the boat.
Anti corruption? Farhash, Albert Tei, Azam Baki, Musa Aman, and every shady deal in Selangor and the military.
Every reason you once told us not to vote BN or PAS, you undid yourself.
Zahid DNAA, selfies with UMNO, heck even scolding us to be sensitive about Najib. You told us BN is not that bad.
You tell the non Malays PAS will destroy their lives, and you tell the Malays that when PAS was in government, they allowed Magnum 4D draws. Which is which?
What is your identity, PH? What do you stand for?
The voters are not stupid. If you tell them there is no difference in voting you or BN, or PAS, then they will believe you.
3 PRN, ketiga2nya kalah. Ha3.
Elok2 ada pakar strategi yang bagus, korang blockencingkan. Korang lebih rela memilih katak2, opportunist2 dan penjilat2 kononnya nak rangkul semua kekuatan. UMNO pun korang berkompromi. Akhirnya, satu persatu negeri ranap. Ha3.
Padan muka korang!
You abandoned your base for 3.5 years. We pleaded, begged, screamed.
You said you didn't want to rock the boat, this was a coalition government.
From Azam Baki and Farhash, to ostracizing Rafizi and destroying PKR and PH from within. Meanwhile, UMNO said screw you and used you to clean their image.
95% of the Chinese and Indians voted for you and you spat on them.
25% of Malays in urban areas voted for you but you were more interested in Kelantan and Kedah.
The wave that began in 2007 will end in 2027. Yes, you became Prime Minister but the cost was the entire movement.
Rest in peace, Pakatan.
spent time to understand the saga of @ns - @balajis x malaysia - unfold over 72 hours.
the pattern is too clean to ignore.
- oct 2024: malaysia rolls out kl20, nomad visas, johor sez. balaji moves in
- network school turns a half-empty forest city into a 400-person builder campus. rm100m+ invested
- jul 10: one day before johor elections, an anonymous account accuses ns of harboring illegal foreigners
- jul 14: authorities raid. 266 passports from 40 countries checked. all clear
- jul 16: balaji freezes rm500m expansion, asks anwar for an mou
- jul 18: he's standing in the delhi cm's office - india is building startup cities
the thing is, everyone in this story is behaving rationally.
malaysia has real red lines.
israeli passport holders are banned. that's not tech-phobia,
that's domestic politics every govt answers to.
balaji has real leverage.
capital is mobile.
communities are mobile.
jurisdictions compete now whether they like it or not.
and here's the part people skip - malaysia didn't just let ns in.
it invited them.
- anwar's own govt designated forest city a special financial zone
- the digital minister visited the ns campus himself
- as late as may, officials were discussing expansion with balaji
but the invitation was general, not personal.
malaysia invited tech. it never signed anything with ns specifically.
that's balaji's entire ask now - convert the implicit welcome into a document.
the vibe was the contract. and vibes don't survive elections.
so both sides just learned the same lesson the hard way
- you can't market - an island near singapore - and skip the word malaysia for 2 years, then ask malaysia for an audience
- you can't court billion dollar builders with sez perks, then let an anonymous account set your enforcement agenda
the network state thesis says communities pick countries like users pick apps.
the malaysia episode shows the missing feature:
host countries have feelings too.
and feelings vote.
now everyone's asking if india is next.
and yes, the opening is real
→ delhi just cleared a ₹400cr startup policy
→ state cms' mentions are full of "build it here"
→ the talent density is unmatched. the diaspora connection is obvious
but honest questions before we celebrate
- would ns survive our capital controls? our crypto tax?
- our own identity politics, one viral post away from its own mp4p?
malaysia didn't lose ns because it lacked incentives.
it had the best incentives in asia.
it lost the intangible - the feeling of being personally welcome.
incentives attract capital - belonging retains it.
i'm not here to pick a side.
malaysia isn't wrong to defend its sovereignty.
balaji isn't wrong to seek certainty.
both are doing their jobs.
the better way, for any country and any community trying this next
- communities: be OF the place, not just IN it. name your host, hire local, respect the red lines before they're tested
- countries: if you invite the experiment, write the rules upfront. don't let anonymous accounts run your enforcement
- both: clarity before capital. a document beats a vibe
nobody won this round.
but the playbook for a better version just got written in public.
whoever reads it first - kl, delhi, astana,
wherever gets the builders.
and more importantly, gets to keep them.
Devs crying that vibe coders aren’t “really building” 😂🤣

Every generation mocks the next abstraction layer.
Those who mock, lose
@NeoArmstrongNe1@masterofnone dah explain his side of story. I think its unfair untuk immediately judge seseorang tanpa dengar penjelasan dan context dari pihak yang terbabit. I think what Danial and @KrackedDevs doing is great. Onwards and upwards !
Yesterday, I posted a thread on what Malaysians were saying about the whole Network School (@ns) Drama
The post went viral. 555k views so far.
@balajis, the Founder of the Network School responded by posting one of my old DMs to him
Twisted to make it look like I support his "Network State" Ideology.
I actually don't.
Here's context on the DM conversation ~ and the whole story.
A thread 🧵
Excluding Perlis where MCA used to have 1 seat in Titi Tinggi all the way up to 2022, the last election (federal or state) in which MCA won more seats than DAP was in 2008 (Pahang and Johor).
Yesterday in Johor, it happened after nearly 20 years.
If I were DAP, I would treat this as an existential crisis and consider leaving PH.
Clearly, compromising every principle for the sake of keeping 1 man in power is starting to take a toll - the chickens are coming home to roost.
Malaysians are no longer afraid to punish political parties.
Kini, tiba masanya kita memupuknya bersama.
Perjalanan BERSAMA baru sahaja bermula.
KEPUTUSAN PRN JOHOR 2026

Two days in Johor Bahru, based in the city with repeated trips to Iskandar Puteri, and one thing is unmistakable: people are angry with PH and PMX
Not mildly disappointed. Angry.

We’ve received notice that the Department of Commerce has lifted export controls on Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5.
We'll begin restoring access tomorrow, and will share an update soon.
We’re grateful to our users for their patience, and to everyone who worked with us on redeploying the models.
