Seems the Centre is misjudging the public mood right now. Why else introduce a fee on UPI and make things worse for your own standing?

Sure, running UPI costs money, no one expects it to be entirely free. But the cash-heavy system we had before cost significantly more. In reality, UPI saves the govt far more money than it takes to maintain.

Think of it like this: You used to pay ₹1,500 a month to ride a crowded bus. Then you switched to the metro, which costs only ₹800 a month. Instead of being happy that you're saving ₹700 every month and getting a better ride, you start complaining about spending ₹800. That’s exactly what’s happening here. The govt is complaining about the visible maintenance cost of UPI while completely ignoring the massive savings and value it has gained.

By shifting millions of transactions online, UPI reduced tax evasion, boosted compliance, and expanded the formal economy. It slashed cash-handling costs like printing, transport, and security, while ensuring cleaner, leak-proof welfare payouts. Its digital trail suppresses black money and fraud.

So why ruin one of the most successful systems India has ever built? The claim that merchants will absorb the cost instead of consumers is absurd. There isn't a single fee or tax levied on businesses in India that doesn't ultimately get passed down to the buyer. A 0.4% fee, even capped at ₹300 per transaction, will simply be tacked onto consumer bills, driving people right back to using cash.

ABVP का प्रदर्शन हमें पता ��हीं है कि तुमने क्यों करवाया? जो विद्यार्थी परिषद विद्यार्थियों के हर विषय पर चुप रहा है, वो अचानक से अपनी ही केंद्र-राज्य-निगम के शासन में जग कर प्रदर्शन कर रहा है!

भाजपा अधिकारियों के खिलाफ कभी भी एक्शन नहीं लेती। इस हरामखोर, निकम्मी लॉबी से इनकी जितनी फटती है, उतनी हमने किसी झाँटू से क्षेत्रीय दल की फटती नहीं देखी है। इन दोगले, भ्रष्टाचारियों ने देश को बरबाद कर दिया है, लोगों के मरने पर भी इन्हें अंतर नहीं पड़ता।

दिल्ली में जो हुआ है, वह मैंने अपनी आँखों के सामने 2004 से हमेशा बारिश में होता देखा है। गाँधी विहार, नेहरू विहार, इंदिरा विकास कॉलोनी समेत ऐसी हर अनरेगुलेटेड कॉलोनी में आप पिलर ढूँढते रहिए, एक-एक ईंट पर पाँच फ्लोर तक की बिल्डिंग खींच दी जाती है। हर बारिश में पुराने मकान ढहते हैं, बच्चे मरते हैं।

भाजपा 2007-22 तक MCD में थी, पिछले 12 वर्षों से केंद्र में है, डेढ़ वर्ष से राज्य में है, इसके पास ऐसा कुछ भी नहीं है कि यह त्रासदी किसी और पार्टी पर यह डाल सके। यह ऑडिट और भ्रष्टाचार का विषय है। इसमें सब आकंठ डूबे हुए हैं।

यदि यह भी एक 'नकारात्मक ही सही, पर डिफ्लेक्शन तो हो गया' जैसा दिख रहा है, तो तुम्हारा भग��ान ही मालिक है।

कल्पना कीजिए कि आपके घर में किसी को अचानक रात में पेट दर्द हो जाये। आप इमरजेंसी में ज़िला सदर अस्पताल म��ं ले कर मरीज़ को जाते हैं जहाँ पे डॉक्टर उसे तुरंत किसी बड़े मेडिकल कॉलेज में रेफेर कर देते हैं।
एंबुलेंस से तुरंत आप वहाँ से निकलते हैं। चूँकि आपको पता है कि मेडिकल कॉलेज में पता नहीं कितनी भीड़ होगी इसलिए आप एंबुलेंस से किसी निजी अस्पताल में उतरते हैं।

और अस्पताल में मरीज़ जैसे ही बेड पर लेटा, अभी कुछ इलाज शुरू भी नहीं हुआ है, डॉ ने देखा भी नहीं और आपका बिल हो गया 20,000 रुपए।

मार्केटिंग के नाम पर कमीशन के खेल ने तथा सरकारी अस्पताल के कर्मियों / डॉक्टरों , एंबुलेंस और निजी अस्पताल के गठजोड़ ने यही स्तिथि बना कर रखी है।

और इतनी भयावह स्थिति के बावजूद कोई इसके विरोध में कुछ लिखना तो छोड़िए, बात नहीं करना चाहता।

कांग्रेस के लोकसभा सांसद शशि थरूर ने डेलिमिटेशन बिल को लेकर इंडियन एक्सप्रेस अख़बार के हवाले से एक लेख में लिखा है—

“ सरकार कहती है कि लोकसभा की सीटें हमेशा 543 पर नहीं रोकी जा सकती है। यह सीमा 1972 में तय हुई थी तबसे देश की आबादी दोग��नी हो चुकी है।

यह दलील ऊपर से लोकतांत्रिक लगती है लेकिन नीचे से एक गहरा खतरा भी छिपा हुआ है। इस परिसीमन के साथ कई बड़ी चुनौतियां भी हैं।

सबसे बड़ा यह है कि जिन दक्षिणी राज्यों ने आबादी पर काबू पाया उन्हें सज़ा मिलेगी और उत्तर के हिंदी भाषी राज्यों को उनकी नाकामी के बावजूद कहीं ज़्यादा इनाम मिलेगा।

दुनिया का कोई स्थापित देश ऐसा बिल्कुल नहीं करता है। हर देश मानता है कि संसद का एक तय आकर होन��� चाहिए।

Ajeet Bariya, 21, a resident of Mandla, Madhya Pradesh, developed severe breathing difficulties.

His father called the State Govt’s 108 helpline, explained his son's condition, and specifically requested oxygen support. Although the ambulance arrived an hour later, the attendants refused to give oxygen without a doctor’s prescription.

Upon arriving at the nearest govt hospital, the attending doctor reprimanded the ambulance staff for their negligence, ordered them to administer oxygen immediately, and referred Ajeet to the district hospital.

While the staff finally administered oxygen for the transfer, the supply ran out halfway to the hospital, and Ajeet died gasping for breath. Videos of his distraught family weeping at the district hospital have since surfaced online; one of them shows Ajeet struggling for air in the ambulance, though it is too sensitive to share.

Most state-funded ambulance services function like this. They operate as if they are merely transport vehicles rather than the first link in the chain of emergency medical care. Ambulances often arrive late, staff frequently lack emergency medical training, and life-saving equipment is missing, outdated, non-functional, or poorly maintained. There are no clearly enforced SOPs, little accountability, inadequate supervision, and almost no meaningful quality audits.

In NEET-PG 2025, candidates with scores as low as –40 out of 800 were allowed to participate in PG counselling. A negative score was considered qualifying.

These extremely low scores, at which seats were actually allotted, indicate a serious crisis in academic standards. A reasonable minimum qualifying merit must be established to maintain the integrity of medical education and the healthcare system.

Forget about dialogue or discussion. So far, neither the Government nor the Opposition has said a word about this because it does not suit their agenda, and it would affect their vote banks and political interests.

Even those who are protesting today in the name of concerns about the education system are not addressing this issue because they too have political ambitions and know that speaking about it could cost them support rather than gain it.
