@Shinde_Revati21 1% of 2 lakh is 2,000.
Per year
One must think hard and long if that extra 2,000, per year, is worth the risk.
Perhaps,
People should stick to RBI regulated Bank FD and accept the returns generated by FD.
@paresh_pisipati The chart of silver and the chart of crypto look similar.
In fact one may not be able to differentiate one from the others, if there are no labels.
I firmly believe direct silver and gold are only meant to be consumed.
For others there is multi-asset funds.
Let's go one step ahead.
All mutual fund SIP are "Lumpsums" on a fixed date of a fixed amount.
So today,
if an investors looks at the multiple Investments inside of an SIP,
They will mostly notice the older installments have a higher CAGR !
Some funds may even be negative in total
with first installment few years ago at a double digit CAGR !
Investing without knowledge is gambling.
Best investment is an investment in oneself.
Either work with a SEBI-RIA,AMFI-RMFD (learn from them)
Or
Gain knowledge by reading SEBI or AMFI or NISM material.
Then Invest.
Do not gamble.
Perhaps only the luckiest 2% make money by gambling,
@BaluGorade Given today's world where,
otp frauds,
link misclick frauds
Atm Card cloning
deepfake frauds
are increasing,
It is perhaps not wise to keep much money in a savings account.
Savings is the first place these frauds impact.
Perhaps 1 month expense in savings is enough.
We must be aware that physical gold needs a physical place to liquidate.
Meaning some goldsmith needs to be available when one has an emergency.
Since we don't live in 1950's where there was a single goldsmith per village who would open their doors at midnight, this may not work today.
I have found a Bank RD is better.
Since liquid and arbitrage funds drag down the "portfolio" returns and clients have a hard time seperating these.
Example :
Equity may generate 12%
Liquid may generate 6%
Client sees the "portfolio returns" as 9%
Changing mindset is an effort and may not always be successful.
Better to seperate debt out of the "Investment Portfolio"
@paresh_pisipati Do you think
Many MFD who were previously Bankers or insurance agents,
Bring their "old Skills" to the MFD business
Have impacted the reputation for an AMFI-RMFD.
@ravihanda Those who are really capable of investing direct probably don't need a plan to be direct by "default".
Those who can't even figure out that their investments are in the regular plan probably should not Invest "Direct".
@BaluGorade Many Multi-Asset mutual funds would disagree in the current year.
Diversification is just a "higher Possibility" of peace of mind,
Not a surety.
@warikoo Unless it's an "Investment",
Apparently people ask less questions
and
are less skeptical ,
when higher returns are promised.
6% = normal
10% = questions
12% = more questions
25% = less questions
40% = even less questions
51% = No questions
75% = FOMO
Very curious why.
@BaluGorade There are other variables involved :
Suddenly a parent might fancy a real estate and ask for money,
If one refuses it becomes emotional
If one does not refuse one could lock money when not wanting to.
@shiladitya4u Mutual funds were never meant for those who can invest by themselves.
It like a good driver
will probably never hire a driver to drive his car.
They are meant for those who can not drive (Invest)
Or
For those who don't want to drive themselves (invest)
@piyush_trades Curious,
Do you think things were different 25 years ago ?
Or
35 years ago ?
Do you think equity investors or traders were respected then ?
Why were they called "Gamblers" or "Dalal" ?
And after all this , the country seems to have survived!
