A token is the basic unit of text that a Large Language model (LLM) reads, processes, and generates. Instead of working directly with raw letters or whole words, LLMs break text into smaller chunks called tokens, and everything the model does from understanding input, predicting the next word, generating output happens at the token level. #AI #LLM

What's an LLM ? - A Large Language Model (LLM) is a type of AI system trained on massive amounts of text (books, articles, conversations, code, etc.) to understand and generate human language.

It works by predicting the most likely next token (word or piece of a word) in a sequence, given everything that came before it and by doing this repeatedly, it can write sentences, answer questions, summarize text, translate languages, and even generate code. #AI #LLM
