UCC in Assam, Bhojshala is Hindu Temple, Mathura Next.

India in 2026 is not the India of 1985 when the Shah Bano verdict was reversed for vote bank appeasement. It is not the India where courts looked the other way while archaeological truth was buried under administrative compromise. The judiciary is examining evidence. The legislature is fulfilling mandates. And the people have voted decisively for leadership that does not flinch in front of pressure groups.

To those wringing their hands about social harmony: social harmony is not achieved by pretending historical injustices never happened. Social harmony is built on truth, equal law, and the courage to correct what was wrong. You cannot have lasting peace on a foundation of suppressed evidence and unequal rights. That is not harmony. That is a pressure cooker with the valve sealed shut.

Assimilation in a plural democracy does not mean erasing identity. It means every citizen regardless of faith accepting one civil law. It means temples that were demolished are acknowledged to have been temples. It means no community stands above the Constitution and above the courts.

And if this verdict and this UCC bring discomfort to those who preferred the old arrangement, the message is simple: approach the court. Present your evidence. Participate in the democratic process. But you do not get to veto history because the truth is inconvenient for you. You do not get to reject a law because equal treatment disrupts your special status. The Constitution of India guarantees rights to everyone. It does not guarantee the preservation of inequality.

Now there is one more conversation that India can no longer avoid.

Mathura. Krishna Janmabhoomi.

If Bhojshala, with its walls of Sanskrit grammar and its Havan Kund, is rightfully a Saraswati temple by verdict of the High Court, then the case of Mathura, where the Shahi Idgah mosque stands on the precise birthplace of Lord Krishna, demands the same archaeological scrutiny and the same legal examination. The argument that religious sites cannot be examined was the same argument made in Ayodhya. The Supreme Court examined it and delivered Ram Lalla’s birthplace back. The argument made in Bhojshala was the same. The High Court examined it and delivered Vagdevi’s temple back.

Mathura is not a fantasy. It is the next logical step in a nation correcting 500 years of historical wrong through the legitimate instruments of courts and evidence, not mobs and violence. The path forward is legal. The path forward is patient. But the path forward is inevitable.

Because Satyameva Jayate was never just a motto on a seal.

It is a civilizational promise.
Truth wins. Always.
