@betsythedevine @750words I find this too, mostly just the last part of the last word and the punctuation at the end, so I've still got the same number of "words" but the last one is cut off. I always force-save before going to stats but still happens.
@stveje Same! Give me 800+ page fantasy books any day, but I just don't have the attention span to sit through a film or TV show on my own. Or if people post videos to a group chat I'm like, isn't there a transcript?
Publishing by far is one of the least competitive industries. I constantly see authors, agents, editors helping authors with reviews, beta reads, reposts, celebrating good news and offering support for bad news.

@jroberts1324 Is it a physical copy? Middle grade books often have a larger font size and wider spacing, so the page count might be deceptive as to the wordcount. It can also depend on genre, for example, fantasy is generally longer.
๐จHow about a thread on building an agent list?๐จ

@jroberts1324 Probably too cliche for people who've heard it, or else too obscure for people who don't know what it means. Maybe you can find another way to describe the character's eyes that's fresher and more accessible?
Anne Patchett on giving away stuff you don't need. I remember doing this to my brother and can totally relate to the guilt. ๐ https://t.co/b0CkUjFlfh via @NewYorker
She's an android, there to meet his needs. When he's bored, he sends her in for upgrades.
She returns with the smile he paid for. He presses warm lips to her cool ones.
He halts. Collapses.
A poison #dart is lodged inside his throat.
"Got some extra mods," she says.

I'm trying to build up my #LinkedIn profile a little more, can any #freelancers or #bloggers give me some tips? I'd like to #connect with more people too so feel free to comment your link below!
@SuspiciousPig I'm from UK. The first time I was in the USA I heard people talking about "semis" and I had no idea what it meant. I was like "semi what?" ๐ In UK we call them lorries, or articulated lorries. Sadly it's not the kind of word people abroad might learn from TV series or films.
@neena_halle It was yesterday but I'm sure there are people still looking. ๐ Maybe just post a pitch for your WIP and then comment on other people's pitches if they appeal to you.
What are the odds - the day I happen to go online looking for new #CritiquePartners is the very day a CPmatch event happens to be taking place?!? ๐คฉ๐คฏ Check out @Megan_Lally for more info or visit https://t.co/uRu8oYbcPV
