In 1956 - Koffi Olomidé, Congolese musician, singer and composer. The self-taught musician earned a Master’s Degree in Mathematics at the University of Paris, but was drawn to music when he returned to Congo. He formed one of Central Africa’s most influential bands, Quartier Latin International, in 1986.

The day Edwin Sifuna announced that he would hold a rally at Posta Grounds in Bungoma Town on 26th July, something interesting happened.

From nowhere, Didmus Barasa also announced a rally in Bungoma Town on the same day, 26th July. I'm told he has been working day and night to organize it at Musikoma, just a few metres from Posta Grounds.

What really surprises me is this. Edwin Sifuna is running for President of Kenya, while Didmus Barasa is running for Governor of Bungoma. They are not even competing for the same seat.

So why is Didmus working so hard to counter someone who is seeking the presidency instead of concentrating on his own race for governor?
