Overkill for a link page? Definitely. Worth it? Also definitely.
What would you build if someone said "just a link page"?

Bento closed, so we launched our new social hub instead and here's how it got made.
It started as a link-in-bio replacement. The service we used shut down, and instead of finding another one, we built our own.
Secret sauce? Built with Claude Code. Brief, review, break, fix, repeat. The announce video above was AI-generated with Kling 3.0.

9/ Some friends asked if I'd release it. Made it for myself but would you actually use free offline dictation for Mac?
If there's interest I'll put it out

This pattern works for basically every tool-shaped app.
The models are open. The hardware is in your laptop. The only thing missing was a way for non-engineers to assemble the pieces.
Now that's here too.

Investment: 5 hours + Claude Pro sub I already had
Saved: $120/year subscription
But the real return: I type 60 wpm, I speak 150. ~55 min saved daily. ~330 hours/year.

One evening with Claude. 0 Swift knowledge.
Result: hold Option+Space, speak, let go. Text appears in any app. Auto-detects languages. Removes filler words. Custom dictionary for work terms. Multiple-stage processing pipeline.
Nothing leaves my Mac.
it tries thing after thing until it works
that stamina thing hits different when you've been the one giving up at midnight before
also it's not just do code now.
the VS Code + Claude setup genuinely feels like pair programming with a coworker who doesn't get tired
I'd hit a wall at 1am. CSS not working, Safari being Safari, something broken on iOS
Claude just... keeps going. no sighs. no "let's look at this tomorrow."
