@wmakarand The majority of the players in the BGT squad will at best play one Ranji game before the white ball action until May end. And then walk straight into the Eng test series.
Only Sarfaraz, Padikkal, Jurel, Deep, Easwaran and Prasidh will play more than one.
So much for planning!
@wmakarand Gavaskar is just injecting himself into the discussion needlessly!
Apparently only the winner presents the trophy - for sure Border was not there in 2017, and 2023 for sure. And from what I hear 2021 as well (could not confirm).
@Vishwamitra24 How about doing this in private and not with the media. The optics are that the coach was trying to deflect any potential blame that his two wards came away without a medal.
This is worse than the Goenka-Rahul episode from the IPL.
@orikron Clearly intentional. Maybe IOC should just take away one of the medals that Sweden won.
Let the person who loses the medal deal with the journalist.
This will not happen again.
@ShivAroor All he did was to publicly throw the players under the bus. Seems like the coach was trying absolve himself of any blame.
Very poor from a legend
@Warlock_Shabby She somehow managed to forget mentioning the name of the most successful Indian badminton player ever - Sindhu ?
And she talks about the lack of attention ?
@imransiddique89 That is so unfair. SA played some very good cricket and won so many tight matches in the tournament. Today's game was so very close and very worthy of a final.
The game and tournament needed a winner and a runner-up - but both teams were champions.
@Sports_Himanshu The India women advanced to the final of the 2020 Women's T20 WC when the semi-final against England was rained off because India finished at the top of their group (they had beaten Aus in the group game)
@markpougatch Both semis have the same extra time (250 minutes) and the forecast in Georgetown is poor for the next 15 days ! Poor venue selection.
The Euro qualification on the basis of the yellow card to an assistant coach surely beats all of this :-)
@Im__Arfan Kapil kept on playing after his peak just to get to a personal record. Ridiculed the fact that current Indian players are under pressure.
In just one day we have seen great like Inzaman and Kapil say silly things that just erodes their stature.
@Sami_ullah_1234 Ironically the clip is from 2012 U19 World Cup final wherein the Unmukt Chand led Indian team beat Australia to win the cup.
Head made 37 (56) and was runout by Harmeet. Chand made 111*, Smit Patel 62*. (folks in USA will know these three).
@jod_insane Another cricketing great who is losing it.
There was the nonsense about pressure etc and now this.
This is the same man who got all upset when someone alleged that he was involved in match-fixing and complained how one loose statement causes so much grief.
Pathetic.
@LucknowIPL Unfortunately IPL does not have a means for a player to decline joining a franchise. Between the Rahul incident and this, your franchise would not get any marquee players.
