We are delighted to share the success of the 4th Regional Workshop on Advanced Health Economic Evaluation at Jawaharlal Institute Of Postgraduate Medical Education And Research ( @OfficialJipmer ) in Puducherry, India. 🎉
This intensive workshop was designed to equip researchers with the essential skills to conduct model-based economic evaluations using the Markov Model in Microsoft Excel. Over the course of the training, participants moved beyond theory and gained hands-on experience in building and interpreting decision models that inform real-world health policy. 🩺 💰
📑 By the end of the course, participants were able to:
• Construct a clear and robust Markov model diagram for economic evaluation
• Perform deterministic and probabilistic analyses using Microsoft Excel
• Interpret model outputs for diverse audiences, from technical experts to policymakers
• Report economic evaluation studies suitable for peer-reviewed journals
It was inspiring to witness the energy, curiosity, and commitment of researchers dedicated to strengthening evidence-informed decision-making in healthcare. Strengthening capacity in advanced economic evaluation is not just about mastering technical tools, it is about empowering researchers to generate credible evidence that can shape better health policies.
Congratulations to all participants and partners who made this workshop a success. We look forward to seeing the impactful studies that emerge from this growing community of health economists and researchers. 👏

#WATCH | HPV vaccination is the only proven method to prevent cervical cancer, which causes nearly 70,000–80,000 deaths annually in India. As HPV infection is the primary cause of the disease, vaccinating girls before exposure significantly reduces the risk of precancer and cancer. The vaccine targets the most cancer-causing HPV types, including 16 and 18, and has been found to be highly safe and effective: DG, ICMR Dr Rajeev Bahl

Can @airindia enable the use of a single-letter last name while booking tickets, so that we (those with single-letter last names) can use @DigiYatraOffice (which is linked to our Aadhar)?
@IndiGo6E has already enabled this for their flight bookings.
Lancet article before the 4th UNHLM on NCDs in 2025:
- Unconditional probability of premature (30-70 years) mortality due to NCDs is not reducing in India!
- Need to implement multisectoral prevention policies and strengthen primary care with NCD services before it's too late.
