It has taken me 30 years to complete this game LOL - I started it in C++ in the mid 90's and it got wiped out after 6 month of work and never finished it. This past week I decided to complete it in Unity. Stupid little game (Breakout3D) but feel accomplished #gamedev#unity3d
Every time I jump into #GameDev 100% some tragic event stops me in my tracks. Mjr back surgery, ❤️attack, Quad Bypass surgery, but this last one, the death of my son at 29yrs old 2 months ago is something I'm not sure I can overcome. Hoping I find the strength to move forward 😭
Taken a bit of time to get my Design Document done, but finally ready to start building assets. Here is a sneak peek at one of the first to come off the assembly line #indiedev#indiegame#IndieGameDev
@RobertJALA Don’t have any advice on what to do unfortunately. Mine culminated in having a heart attack. That woke me up REAL fast. From there, I learned to quit thinking everything through to 100 different conclusions and stressing that I can’t accomplish them all. Hope you find a solution
@unclebeany1989 Honestly I personally don’t understand peoples obsession w/pixel art. It tends to get more traction than most. I grew up when that was just “standard” graphics and really never wanted to go back to them 😁. But either way, it’s good for you.
@benz145 Definitely not competition. 2 different market segments and there is a huge price divide-clearly AVP is AR centric where Meta focus more on VR despite their “pass through tech”. Might encourage Meta to actually step up their game a bit and produce something a little more solid.
@RobinVanina I use to get between 4-5 hours of sleep, but I have changed that to 6-7 now. Found I am more alert and I am far more creative. Take the time to exercise, eat a little healthier, and step away from the computer. You find you are actually more productive in less time.
@unclebeany1989 Well, glad it finally installed! Now head over to Unity’s site and start learning how it works. Plenty of learning paths there to start. YouTube, Udemy and plenty of other sites with courses both free and paid are out there.
@4Barel@Heaney555 I am personally not a fan of Apple anything, but am glad to see them in the XR space now. Yes it is $$$, and I see several issues with the Vision, but in the end it’s more competition. They have a habit of taking something good and making the masses want it. This is good for XR
@CezaryXR Non-gaming related apps, yes we can adapt to hand/eye interactions. Feedback will be an issue as others pointed out. For gaming we need controllers (not gamepads) for ability to control movement, feedback, and track hands at same time. Hand tracking will not work well for this.
