This is what Modi has done. Yeah, the small bits that may not matter on Instagram. But it matters to all those folks who benefit from this. We are a country with less than 3000 USD per capita. We had nothing even in 2014. This man, with all his flaws, did all of this bit by bit. Is he perfect? Far from it!! But he is still our best bet. FYI, I worked on this scheme personally. Allahabad and BHU were destroyed by VP Singh and Mandal, copying was regarded as legitimate rights of students in UP and Bihar, school-teachers were recruited for money and schools and colleges were stuffed with party cadres and no one shed tears for those denied jobs sat on hunger-strike for months (albeit not in Delhi but state capitals). And, we had some of the most eminent Education Ministers over the years - much more competent than Dharmendra Pradhan - from Triguna Sen, PC Chunder, Debiprasad Chattopadhyay to name a few - to the right eminent Kapil Sibal esq. Dufferent strikes for different folks?

I keep asking friends inside the system for raw data. In the last 12 years, all the data that I have gathered has been through my own personal efforts despite the government.
The system inside never gives me any data. Other than Shamika Ravi and her papers and similar ones, the GOI never shares raw data to be analysed by outsiders. And even if it releases them, it is done so obscurely that no one searches for it.
And this trend exists, cutting across every single state and central government, right since independence. The Indian state, especially the babus, does not like to share information. It runs on a "trust me bro" mode. Why should it be like that? Let people use their intelligence.

It was not broken completely. But it had broken down sufficiently. I cannot give details because some things are not supposed to be mentioned.
