When the USSR dissolved, Ukraine was the richest part with the world’s best fertile soil, a developed industry, army and 52 million inhabitants.

In just one generation, Ukraine threw it all away. They started to antagonize Russia and Russia stopped buying Ukrainian goods.

Even the world’s best freighter aircraft manufacturer Antonov went bankrupt.

Then Ukraine threw away the deal of free gas for transporting Russian gas to Europe.

Then they ruined the entire industry, lost 4 provinces to Russia and could no longer live on the taxes they collect. They are an eternal support case.

The 52 million inhabitants are now 25 million. Many emigrated and millions left in 2022. Half are old and will die soon. With a fertility rate under 1 per woman, Ukraine will be down to 15 million soon.

After one generation the most successful country lies in ruins.

People in Ukraine will forever ask “what possessed us?”. The answer is Europe. The EU used Ukraine to unite around a common enemy, to strengthen central command and control.

People with higher IQs are significantly more likely to be night owls.

The data breaks it down by sleep schedules:

• Very Dull (IQ < 75): Sleep by 11:41 PM
• Normal (IQ 90–110): Sleep by 12:10 AM
• Very Bright (IQ > 125): Sleep by 1:44 AM (and sleep in past 11:00 AM on weekends)

Why? Evolutionary psychology.

For 99% of human history, night was for sleeping. Artificial light didn't exist. Staying up late chasing complex thoughts, building projects, or solving problems is an "evolutionarily novel preference."

People with higher general intelligence are more equipped to override ancestral instincts, break away from the traditional sun-up-sun-down routine, and adapt to a modern, 24/7 world.

The early bird might get the worm.

But the night owl gets the higher IQ score.

The Ukrainian army has come up with some new methods to deal with desertion over the past 6 months
- Mining the perimeter of training camps
- Psychologically breaking newly mobilized troops through constant beatings and torture, often resulting in death
- Setting dogs on troops trying to escape, beating them to death in front of troops to set an example, dragging them from quadbikes to scrape off their skin
- Mass mobilizing drug addicts from drug substitution clinics (methadone). These troops can be tortured and expended more easily
- The resulting human machines are called 'one-time uses' by commanders. Huge losses for assault operations with solely informational purposes
