China on Sunday announced a plan that aims to have 1.35 billion mu (90 million hectares) of high-standard farmland developed by 2030 and all eligible permanent basic farmland transformed into high-standard ones featuring sci-tech support and info tech-based farmland management by 2035.
The country had developed over 1 billion mu of high-standard farmland and built irrigation networks stretching a total length of over 10 million kilometers by end-2024.
