@ooist7 Hey Mark, back in July most of the sites were covered in bracken (photo), but since then there has been an explosion of acacia, even some of the old roads I was using have been covered in acacia and I can only tell where they were because of the lack of canopy haha
One of my sites exactly 12 months apart following the 2019/20 bushfires. Most of my sites now look like the photo on the right which has taken bush bashing to a new level but also made for a very interesting small mammal survey season #wildoz#blacksummer
@EuanRitchie1@Manic_Henry @BulewoDudley @Judy_Dunlop @eco_jolly @astobowilson @rohanclarke01 Klarus FH10, we had three of these for LBP surveys, they have an inbuilt red which has a throw of 225m and white with a throw of 500m, plus adjustable zoom. Cannot imagine spotlighting for mammals without red and the clip on filters never make it out of the forest.
I’m on my third season of small mammal surveys and have caught my first ever eastern pygmy possum at one of the sites burnt by the 2019/20 bushfires. The forest has a long way to go but has started to blossom with banksias. Non-bitey-pretending-to-be-cute photos attached #WildOz
What's better than a #roundfrog? #babyroundfrogs!
Lots of #frogs out and about in #NSW, many likely the result of the heavy February rains throughout much of the state. #WildOz
A few more white-footed dunnart friends from the field. Safe to say the love was not reciprocated, but good to see more of these ferocious floofs in my sites burnt by the Black Summer bushfires #wildoz
