తమిళనాడు ఈ స్థితికి ఒక్కరోజులో రాలేదు. ఇది 5 ఏళ్ల రాజకీయాల ఫలితం కాదు. దాద��పు 200 ఏళ్లుగా నెమ్మదిగా నిర్మించిన ఆలోచన. బ్రిటిష్ పాలకులకు ఒక విషయం స్పష్టంగా అర్థమైంది. హిందూ నాగరికత బలంగా ఉన్నంత వరకు భారతదేశాన్ని పూర్��ిగా మార్��డం కష్టం. కానీ తమిళనాడులో వాళ్లకి పెద్ద అడ్డంకి ఎదురైంది. అక్కడి ప్రజలు గట్టిగా హిందూ సంప్రదాయాల్లో ఉండేవారు. గుడులు బలంగా ఉండేవి. భక్తి ఉద్యమం అక్కడి నుంచే ప్రారంభమైంది. ఆళ్వార్లు, నాయనార్లు అక్కడివాళ్లే. 1822 నుండి 1826 మధ్య జరిగిన థామస్ మన్రో సర్వేలో తమిళనాడులో గురుకులాల్లో చదివిన విద్యార్థుల్లో పెద్ద భాగం శూద్రులేనని నమోదైంది. అంటే తర్వాత చెప్పినట్టు “హిందూ వ్��వస్థ వల్ల�� అందరూ అణచివేయబడ్డారు” అనే కథ అంత సింపుల్ కాదు. అప్పుడు వాళ్లు కొత్త పద్ధతి మొదలుపెట్టారు. తమిళుడిని హిందువు నుండి వేరు చేయాలని నిర్ణయించారు. “నువ్వు హిందువు కాదు…” “నీ సంస్కృతి వేరు…” “నీ చరిత్ర వేరు…” అన�� నెమ్మదిగా నమ్మించ��ం ప్రారంభించారు. 1816లో ఫ్రాన్సిస్ ఎలిస్ అనే బ్రిటిష్ అధికారి దక్షిణ భారత భాషలు సంస్కృతానికి వేరు అని చెప్పాడు. 1856లో రాబర్ట్ కాల్డ్‌వెల్ అనే మిషనరీ ఆ ఆలోచనను ఇంకా ముందుకు తీసుకెళ్లాడు. “ఆర్యులు బయటివాళ్లు…” “ద్రావిడులు అసలు స్థానికులు…” “బ్రాహ్మణులు ఆక్రమణదారులు…” అనే భావనలను వ్యాప్తి చేశాడు. ఈ ఆలోచనలు కేవలం పుస్తకాలలోనే ఆగిపోలేదు. చదువుల్లోకి వె��్లాయి. పాఠ్యపుస్తకా��లోకి వెళ్లాయి. తర్వాత ప్రజల ఆలోచనల్లోకి వెళ్లాయి. 1901లో బ్రిటిష్ జనగణనలో ఉత్తర భారతీయుడు - ఆర్యుడు దక్షిణ భారతీయుడు - ద్రావిడుడు అని వర్గీకరణ చేశారు. తర్వాత ఈ ఆలోచనలు రాజకీయ రూపం దాల్చాయి. జస్టిస్ పార్టీ వచ్చింది. బ్రిటిష్ మద్దతు ఇచ్చింది. తర్వాత పెరియార్ ఉద్యమం వచ్చింది. హిందూ దేవుళ్లపై విమర్శలు, బ్రాహ్మణ వ్యతిరేక నినాదాలు, వేరు ద్రావిడ దేశం డిమాండ్. ఇ��ి పెరుగుతూ వచ్చాయి. తర్వాత వేలాది హిందూ దేవాలయాలు ప్రభుత్వ నియంత్రణలోకి వెళ్లాయి. ఆ దేవాలయాలు కేవలం ప్రార్థన స్థలాలు కాదు. భూములు, ఆస్తులు, సమాజ ఆర్థిక బలం. కానీ చర్చిలు, మసీదులు మాత్రం స్వతంత్రంగానే ఉండిపోయాయి. అంటే హిందూ సమాజం యొక్క సంస్థాగత శక్తి బలహీనపడింది. ఆ తర్వాత సినిమాలను ఉపయోగించారు. సినిమాల ద్వారా ద్రావిడ రాజకీయాలు ప్రజల్లోకి తీసుకెళ్లారు. డైల��గులు, స్క్రిప్టులు, హిందూ సంప్రదాయాలపై ఎగతాళి, “ద్రావిడ గర్వం” పేరుతో కొత్త గుర్తింపు. సినిమాల్లో బొట్టు పెట్టుకున్నవాడిని వెనుకబడినవాడిలా, ఆచారాలు పాటించేవాడిని హాస్య పాత్రలా చూపించడం కేవలం వినోదం కాదు. అది మెల్లగా మనసుల్లోకి వెళ్లే మానసిక యుద్ధం. అందుకే తమిళనాడులో సినిమా వాళ్లు ముఖ్యమంత్రులు అవుతారు. ఎందుకంటే అక్కడ సినిమా కేవలం వినోదం కాదు. సమాజ ఆలోచనను మార్చే సాధనం. ఇప్పుడు అస��ు విషయం. మొదట వాళ్లు చెప్పింది: “నువ్వు హిందువు కాదు.” తర్వాత వచ్చే ప్రశ్న: “అయితే నేను ఎవరు?” ఆ ఖాళీలోకి కొత్త మతాలు, కొత్త రాజకీయాలు, కొత్త గుర్తింపులు వచ్చాయి. ఇది ఒక్కరోజులో జరగలేదు. 200 ఏళ్లుగా చరిత్రను మార్చారు. గుర్తింపును మార్చారు. ఆలోచనను మార్చారు. ఈ రోజు కనిపిస్తున్న నాయకులు ఆ ప్రక్రియ ఫలితమే. విత్తనాలు చాలా కాలం క్రితమే నాటబడ్డాయి. దేశాన్ని మార్��డానికి ఎప్పుడూ యుద్ధం అవసరం ��ండదు. ఒక తరం ఆలోచనను మార్చగలిగితే చాలు. క్రెడిట్స్: విశ్వ గారు

ఆ ఆలోచనను ఇంకా ముందుకు తీసుకెళ్లాడు.

అనే భావనలను వ్యాప్తి చేశాడు.

తర్వాత ప్రజల ఆలోచనల్లోకి వెళ్లాయి.

ఇది ఒక్కరోజులో జరగలేదు.

200 ఏళ్లుగా
చరిత్రను మార్చారు.
గుర్తింపును మార్చారు.
ఆలోచనను మార్చారు.

ఈ రోజు కనిపిస్తున్న నాయకులు
ఆ ప్రక్రియ ఫలితమే.

విత్తనాలు చాలా కాలం క్రితమే నాటబడ్డాయి.

దేశాన్ని మార్��డానికి
ఎప్పుడూ యుద్ధం అవసరం ��ండదు.

ఒక తరం ఆలోచనను మార్చగలిగితే చాలు.

Thanks to fiercely courageous children of Bharat Mata, Somnath kept getting rebuilt.
