I am slowly getting through Dostevsky's Crime and Punishment. The writing style, even through the translation, is quite frantic and meandering. It’s interesting, but I certainly can’t read more than a chapter at a time.
I don’t know that I’m actually enjoying it, but it’s an interesting read all the same.
Theo is ready for me to be done with it.
FULL VIDEO: Reverse-seared New York strip, cooked low and slow until perfectly edge-to-edge pink, then finished with a ripping hot crust. Obviously, the main show is the gochujang butter sauce loaded with rich butter and just enough Korean chili paste to bring sweet heat and umami.
@CyborgPeds Hopefully you are humble enough to take input from those around you when you start losing your edge.
I had a huge fight with my mother-in-law when I told her that she was not allowed to drive my children anymore, and that she was a threat to those around her.
Years ago, my neighbor and I were struggling to get a huge fire bush out of a hole so I could move it.
My dad, visiting for a bit, came out, grabbed the bush, and yanked it out of the hole by himself. He then tipped a five-gallon bucket over and sat down for a breather.
He was 85 at the time. Farmer strength never goes away...
Every son deserves to think their Dad is an absolute Chad for as long as possible.
Despite my Father and I being similar height and weight, I still think of him as a giant.
Pumping fellow Dad’s tires is a tool we don’t use often enough.
I've torn the meniscus and damaged MCLs in both knees--a year apart. It took me a year to recover from each and get back to my regular weight lifting level.
Loss of mobility sucks.
Re: Disability
As I mentioned a few weeks back, I had to have knee surgery in the form of a meniscus root repair. Apparently this is one of the knee surgeries that takes the longest to recover from and requires a somewhat draconian rehabilitation in which you are very limited in mobility.
It’s been very humbling.
I’ve had some complications too so this is dragging on.
I’ve had many surgeries before, but this is the first one that has truly limited my mobility and made me unable to enjoy basic pleasures in life. Heck, I can barely walk around a grocery store.
I’ll never again take for granted the basic joy that comes with living a healthy life.
Yeah I’m kinda depressed and unhappy, but this too will pass. Many people suffer from far worse, and I realize that.
Just venting, thanks for listening.
I haven't watched a single minute of World Cup soccer. (A few short clips don't count.)
I've watched scads of videos of visitors having a great time here.
I think the reason visitors are having such a fun time in our country for the World Cup is partly because we kind of don’t care about the World Cup. Like we care about it now that you’re all here having fun but also we’re mostly carrying on as normal. Lots of americans probably didnt even know the world cup was going to be here, then suddenly they there’s a bunch of Scots in kilts and Germans freaking out over bass pro shop and our natural reaction is YES, WELCOME TO AMERICA. People are getting a very candid glimpse into our culture.
Found an imaginary problem, said only they could fix it, didn’t listen to experts, hired buddies who grifted millions, failed miserably, bragged how great it went.
The entire Trump presidency in a nutshell.
@CyborgPeds OnlyFans chick (by her own bio admission) stirring up clicks for engagement.
I'm so glad there are other Europeans having a great time here.
I won't go back to London any time soon, and I have no desire to ever see Paris.
Let me break it down in a simple way that I’ve been reporting from the beginning.
To invent a vaccine for a disease that didn’t exist, our scientific Einsteins used taxpayer money to partner with communist China to create the dangerous virus in a lab—So that they could create a vaccine for it.
Covid was a result of primarily US funded vaccine research, and that’s the thing they could not let you know.
They stopped at nothing to obfuscate, misdirect, cover their tracks, protect themselves, and controversialize anyone telling the truth.
The scientific establishment and media aided and abetted.
I can think of no more impactful, crimes and violations that have occurred in our lifetime.
@nickcheatham1@terryschappert my daughter adopted this pup when she kicked a loser ex-boyfriend out. The poor dog had been through a lot of trauma and homelessness.
Thankfully, the pup is still with us, and it’s been wonderful to give her a stable, loving home.
I’m leaving Oregon in three or so years after some family stuff straightens out.
One of my main goals: a home where I can take in the occasional beat up, unwanted dog, and give it a few years of good life.
Terry is such an inspiration.
Molly is home at the beach now.
I've noticed some potential health issues, but I'm gonna get her fixed up ASAP.
Definitely her first time on sand, and I think Aunt Bea is probably thinking, "Who TF is this big dog showing up to my house?"
Again - @WVmotoguy really did the heavy lifting to get her here. Thank you, Brother.
I hope this has put a smile on your faces.
God is good.
