10,000 labs claimed operational.
50,000 more announced.
Good idea — but where is the public audit? Which schools have functional labs? Are teachers trained?
Is equipment working?
Are students using them weekly? The Atal Tinkering Lab idea is good: ₹20 lakh support per school, 10,000 labs listed as operational, and 50,000 more announced for government schools.

But the real question is not only how many labs were sanctioned.

The real question is:

Are these labs actually functional?
Are teachers trained and confident?
Is equipment working?
Are students using the labs weekly?
Are grants audited after release?
Are outcomes publicly visible?

India cannot spend thousands of crores in the name of upskilling children and then leave poor students with locked labs, dead equipment, and no mentoring.

If students are called the future of India, then the public deserves transparent proof that these labs are working.
