@namename778@bruhnah76@ARealUsernameFr@nkulw https://t.co/6BHMJZWbQQ this explanation at least explained it a bit.
I do think a lot of ppl are just copying their opinions from other users/youtubers/etc. because it's a "cool" game. I don't think most of the playerbase has played any of the OG series.
@vocaloid_papi@ARealUsernameFr@nkulw the game immerses you in the story because you are not just controlling a character, you, the player, are a runner, having your consciousness uploaded into a shell to run on tau ceti. Once that sets in the story being told really starts to hit because YOU are a part of it.
@DrDashed@ARealUsernameFr@nkulw ok NOW I get it lol. Thank you.
I will say - I think this is kinda how most mech games / pilot games operate. But Marathon def has denser lore.
@bruhnah76@ARealUsernameFr@nkulw I like the art style. Others have mentioned the gameplay loop in-universe matching player motivations but I don’t think that’s unique to Marathon?
@ARealUsernameFr@thriving_ego@nkulw I'm not sure that this isn't that different from any other extraction shooter (save for friendly arc raiders lobbies).
I like the art style!
@ARealUsernameFr@nkulw can you describe how it’s not just an extraction shooter (with additional lore justifications for respawning/looting/etc.)
honest question because I see ppl make these blanket statements without explaining themselves
@IbukiLazuli@marcievania I get the "remake bad" ppl but I've played the ff6 og and have dabbled in the ff6 pixel remaster and it seems relatively faithful still.
@neogeo8man@viperwave yeah sorta agree; but the way I was playing (cautious) wasnt so fun compared to how I’ve seen ever ppl running/gunning (because they know where everything is)
