Wow!
CM of our neighbouring state is actually saying the Centre can’t stop Kerala from doing what it does best - use Mlore to feed its state coffers!
What Rubbish!
Like they take our trains, take the revenue, dump garbage in Mysuru, want freeway through Bandipur, Sullia and its demographic shift is for even nincompoops to see, go to Madiwala station on Friday and you have to struggle to hear Kannada, come COVID and they have an issue if Mlore seals its borders coz they got no hospital of their own.
Like clap clap!!! This is literally asking how can you take back and give to Karnataka what is rightfully theirs 😒
God’s Own Country!!!
Mangaluru’s railways coming under a single administrative umbrella is a welcome and important step for coastal Karnataka.
For years, the division of Mangaluru’s railway jurisdiction between Southern and South Western Railways has created avoidable challenges in coordination and addressing local concerns. Bringing the region under the South Western Railway’s Mysuru Division can help streamline decision-making and give greater focus to Mangaluru’s railway infrastructure and connectivity needs.
Appreciation is also due to MP Shri @CaptBrijesh for consistently pursuing the interests of Mangaluru and coastal Karnataka and keeping this long-pending demand firmly on the agenda.
My gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi, Railway Minister Shri @AshwiniVaishnaw and MoS Shri @VSOMANNA_BJP for taking this demand forward.
This is what persistent representation and responsive governance can achieve.
A stronger, better-connected Mangaluru is vital for the growth of coastal Karnataka.
I urge Union Ministers Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw and Shri V. Somanna to ensure this decision is not reversed. Bringing Mangaluru Junction under SWR’s Mysuru Division will strengthen Karnataka’s railway network, improve connectivity and accelerate development in coastal Karnataka.
Being a railway fan, I am so happy today!!
Now #Mangalore joins SWR
I hope remaining places which are part of different zones should come under SWR to make UNITED KARNATAKA RAILY
- Udupi (KRCL)
- Karwar (KRCL)
- Bidar (SCR)
- Kalaburagi (CR)
- Yadagiri (SCOR)
- Raichur (SCOR)
.@CaptBrijesh deserves all the appreciation for bringing Mangaluru under SWR. Issue was unaddressed for decades but @CaptBrijesh has put an end to the multiple zonal conflicts at Mangaluru by getting it under SWR.

Hon’ble CM Shri @DKShivakumar sir,
The Cabinet’s decision to amend the Karnataka Government Parks (Preservation) Act, 1975, reportedly allowing the diversion of up to 5% of park land, is deeply concerning.
Our parks are not real-estate assets. They are vital public, ecological and intergenerational assets that must be protected.
Lalbagh, Cubbon Park and thousands of other parks must remain protected - not opened up for commercial or real estate projects.
This move is clearly designed to facilitate projects such as the Tunnel Road by circumventing the proceedings before the Hon’ble High Court.
I urge you to reconsider this amendment and ensure that no park land is diverted without strict safeguards, environmental assessment and meaningful public consultation.
Our green spaces are not meant to be traded, transferred or sacrificed. They belong to the people of Karnataka and to future generations.
This is the reality of Kerala model
Mangaluru revenue is feeding the development of ENITRE state railway infrastructure.
Education with beef and without development, industries is no use
Mangaluru is not being “taken away”. It is rightfully being brought under South Western Railway’s Mysuru Division - headquartered in Karnataka - so that railway administration is aligned with the region that generates its economic strength.
If, as Kerala MPs themselves admit, more than half of Palakkad Division’s annual revenue comes from Mangaluru, why shouldn’t Mangaluru and Karnataka benefit from the economic strength generated here?
Correcting a historical administrative arrangement is not “hollowing out” Kerala’s railway strength. It is ensuring justice for Mangaluru and Karnataka.
The outrage only makes the underlying issue clear: Kerala is upset that the revenue generated by a Karnataka city is no longer theirs!
Tch tch!!!
A CM crying because they lost revenue from another state’s city is peak shamelessness
Railway revenue : Karnataka
Jobs : Karnataka
Education : Karnataka
Dumping waste : Karnataka
I don’t think any other state acts like such a leech & feels no shame about it
Mangaluru is in Karnataka, and its railway administration must serve Karnataka’s interests. Bringing Mangaluru Junction under South Western Railway’s Mysuru Division is a rational administrative decision. There is no question of compromising Karnataka’s interests.
Congratulations to the people of Karnataka on this historic railway decision! 🎉🚆
Heartfelt thanks to Hon’ble Railway Minister @AshwiniVaishnaw and Hon’ble MoS for Railways @VSOMANNA_BJP for this important decision benefiting Mangaluru and Karnataka. 🙏
