This account exists for one reason: to ensure Wangwang and her puppies are never forgotten. Every voice matters. Please don't look away. #JusticeForWangwang
Wangwang was a mother.
A brave mother.
A mother whose final choice was love.
When the violence began, she could have run. She could have saved herself. But in that moment between life and death, she chose her puppies.
She begged for mercy. She cried out in terror and pain. Yet her pleas did not awaken even the smallest trace of compassion in those who hurt her.
She endured the unimaginable because she believed that, if she stayed, she might protect her babies.
If the final act of a mother protecting her children cannot move us to speak, then what will?
Please don’t look away.
Be their voice.

Change in China Is Possible. It’s Already Happening. 🇨🇳🐾
When the suffering feels endless, it’s easy to feel hopeless and believe nothing will ever change.
But history tells us otherwise.
🐕 Shenzhen banned the consumption of dogs and cats.
🐶 China removed dogs from its national livestock catalogue, recognizing their growing role as companion animals.
🐾 Chinese activists have stopped transports and rescued hundreds of dogs using existing laws.
🐔 Animal welfare and cage-free standards have expanded.
🦊 China introduced major nationwide restrictions on eating wild land animals.
These changes didn’t happen in silence.
People spoke up. Advocates organized. Public attitudes changed. Pressure grew. Policy changed.
These changes have likely already protected millions of animals and will continue protecting countless more.
But they aren’t nearly enough.
There is still an enormous amount to do. Wang Wang and other recent stories continue to make that clear.
China needs comprehensive animal protection laws, meaningful enforcement, and better education around animal welfare.
Change rarely happens all at once. It happens slowly, then suddenly.
Small victories build on each other. Attitudes shift. Pressure grows. What once seemed impossible becomes possible.
A few small changes can become an avalanche.
So we keep speaking up. As long as it takes.
For Wang Wang and every animal without a voice. ❤️

Wang Wang’s message was projected onto the UN Headquarters and landmarks in cities around the world. 🐾🌎
From August 28 to 30, marking two months since the Wang Wang case, teams in New York, Berlin, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Sydney carried out projections under the theme “JUSTICE FOR WANGWANG.”
On the night of August 29, the New York team projected the message onto the UN Headquarters. At the same time, similar projections appeared on the German Bundestag, Los Angeles City Hall, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, and the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney.
Through this open and non-confrontational form of public expression, the teams hope to help more people learn about Wang Wang’s case, keep the pursuit of truth and justice alive, and ensure that the case is not forgotten with time.
A wish came true!!? 😭😭😭😭
I love kind-hearted people!! ❤️
And the action is still continuing. 🐾
Let’s keep raising our voices for Wang Wang around the world.

If we’re talking about what values the next generation should carry forward, compassion should be one of them.
Education is not only about achievement. It’s also about empathy, responsibility, and how we treat those who are vulnerable.
Wang Wang’s case showed why China needs both stronger animal-protection laws and better humane education.
Modern country. Modern laws.

Thank you to the kind person who gathered these little moments of Wangwang’s life into this video. This sweet face, this beautiful soul - she was here. And now we have these precious glimpses of her to hold on to.
Every time I look at Wangwang, I can’t help but whisper to myself: God... I just love her.
I never met her, but I love her.
If I had ever been lucky enough to have her in my life, I might not have been able to give her a life of luxury. But I would have given her the very best I could - a full belly, a warm place to sleep, a family who loved her, and the chance to grow old knowing she was safe.
Wangwang, I promise I’ll try to be a good person and live a life worthy of heaven when my time comes. I hope heaven will give me the chance this life never did - the chance to meet you.
I know you and your babies are there. I just know.

@XueJia24682 Cute dog.
But why not talk about Wang Wang too?
She was tortured and burned to death two months ago, and her case exposed the lack of comprehensive animal cruelty protections in China.
If Chinese dogs are worth celebrating when they’re cute and famous, they’re also worth protecting when they’re vulnerable and suffering.
Wang Wang mattered too.

Animal-Abuse Apologists Say the Darndest Things 😂
Me: “China should have stronger animal-welfare laws.”
Replies, somehow:
“So you want those boys HANGED???”
“What about Gaza?”
“America and Europe have problems too.”
“Why do you hate China so much?”
“Western thinking.”
“You’re from India, shut up.”
“Disingenuous little worm” and Westoid libtard.” Two of my favourites.
“You are anti-human” and “You are a bot”
Guys. I said animal-welfare laws. 😭
Not executions.
Not regime change.
Not that humans don’t matter.
Not a comprehensive solution to every injustice on Earth.
Supporting animal protection does not make you “anti-human.” Compassion is not a finite resource. We are perfectly capable of caring about human beings and animals at the same time.
I’m asking for modern, proportionate laws against serious animal cruelty.
You can disagree with that without inventing an entirely different argument and then getting furious at it.
A modern country can handle that conversation.

A real opportunity to advocate for animal welfare in China.
Several local People’s Congresses are currently accepting legislative proposals, including on animal welfare, pet ownership, stray-animal management, and harmful online content.
If you don’t speak Mandarin but want to participate, please write your email in Chinese (use AI) and keep it sincere, respectful, and specifically focused on animal welfare.
Please don’t copy-paste a generic mass email or use anti-China or politically confrontational language.
That can backfire badly. It risks allowing legitimate animal-welfare advocacy to be dismissed as politically motivated, undermining the Chinese advocates doing this work, and creating additional pressure for local volunteers.
The purpose is simple: better protection for animals and better laws. Keep the focus there.
And act quickly: some of these submission windows close August 30–31.

Yesterday marked two months since Wangwang and her puppies left us.
As night fell over #Sydney, we gathered outside St Mary’s Cathedral and lit candles for them.
We spelled out WANGWANG in candlelight and made hearts for her. Two tourists from Taiwan happened to see us as they were passing by and stopped to join us in remembering Wangwang. Those who couldn’t be there created beautiful little memorials for her at home, while some of us brought our dogs to stand with Wangwang too.
Some of us cried. Some tried hard not to. We comforted one another, encouraged one another, and reminded each other why we were there: to seek justice for Wangwang and to speak up for the innocent animals who still need us.
Wangwang, none of us knew you while you were alive. And yet we miss you so much. We love you so, so much.
Rest in peace, my dear Wangwang.❤️

China wants the world to see EVs, AI, humanoid robots—and the future.
Then came Wang Wang.
Technology can modernize fast. Laws, accountability and compassion must keep up.
Otherwise, one small dog can expose a much bigger soft-power problem.

What does #justiceforwangwang mean?
I hear many different answers to this question.
For some, justice means accountability for the people responsible for what happened to her. I understand that.
But for me, justice for Wang Wang has to become something much bigger to honour her memory.
We cannot save Wang Wang. Nothing we do can change what happened to her. That hurts.
But there are millions of animals alive today, and millions more to come, whose futures can still be changed.
Justice for Wang Wang means turning the heartbreak and attention surrounding her story into a sustained effort for stronger animal-protection laws and enforcement in China.
That won’t happen overnight. It may take years. It will require patience, persistence, cooperation and a lot of work.
But imagine what Wang Wang’s legacy could become if this global movement ultimately helps protect millions of animals who otherwise might suffer as she did.
We couldn’t save Wang Wang. But in her name, perhaps we can save millions more.
That is what #JusticeForWangWang means to me. 🐾❤️
P.S. see the comments for ideas on steps you can take to help.

I was never involved in animal welfare before Wangwang either. Whenever I came across stories of animal cruelty, I couldn't bear to look, so I would quickly scroll past.
But Wangwang was different. Something inside me changed forever. This time, I couldn't scroll past. I couldn't look away and carry on as if I had never seen it. I knew I had to speak up.
I know speaking up is only the beginning, and the road to real change may be long. But I also know this now: looking away changes nothing. Silence protects no one. And if we continue to turn away, there will be more Wangwangs.
A civilisation that learns to look away from suffering is not moving forward. It is losing its way.
