โI do not have a swimsuit nor have I ever learned to swim. Iโve always walked over the water when necessary.โ
There was no shame in her admission only the mater of fact tone that said she didnโt see anything truly wrong with it.
Sheโd never needed to learn.+
She hummed a twitch of her lips , โ I see nothing wrong with sharks.โ
She looked over to him and nodded, โ I would not mind going. It will be nice to see the ocean the true Ocean and no Lost or Horrors to taint it.
โ Is this your way of asking me on that date you spoke of?โ
"Hey!" He glanced at her quickly seriously, then began laughing "That's a good joke! Hell, maybe I do see myself a bit of a whale shark!"
"The ocean is... beautiful..." He looked at the tank in front of them "The beach, the waves, it's amazin'. Would love to take ya to one"
โThe brave and the dead.โ She said dismissing that quickly uncaring in a way that was unnerving and yet almost expected.
She didnโt care about unknowns.
โWhat I surmise is that you are the first to actually try and get to know her like that and itโs a phase.โ
"End of the world, death, some thin's that can break the strongest. I'm sure there were plenty that could."
He stood and spread his arms, showing himself off.
"Tryin' to figure out what it is about the person she spent time with?"
โIs it because you too look a bit frightening with your scars?โ She asked as she lifted the plush to look at it, brushing her hands over it and pulling it to her chest.
โWe did not have fish where we grew up. Or oceans. They had long dried up. But I find the ocean beautiful.โ
Walking over, he took a seat next to her, placing a large stuffed whale shark in her lap.
"Ya know, I always liked these guys... they look so scary, but in reality they're not bad, just misunderstood."
"Also, kinda cute, don't ya think?"
โAnd what makes you so sure that it will? Humanity could not handle what destroyed their world.โ
She had no belief in the power of humanity.
She crossed her arms, โ Anyway. I didnโt come here for that I wanted to see you. Not often my sister spends time around others.โ
"What if she accepts that humanity that ya keep downplayin' she becomes even stronger?"
He let out a sigh, it felt like she was very much set in her way.
"Ain't just one way to get stronger, there's multiple ways... it's just findin' them. Ya ever think this could be a way?"

Sheโs found herself at an aquarium, and currently watching the fish squirm by the young woman having the ghost of a smile on her lips as she does so.
Life was always so beautiful to herโฆ but the fleetingness of it was what made it so.
She narrowed her gaze, not wanting to answer as she didnโt want to hear his point.
โ She can be greater than that, I know that she is, so does she and yet she hides it.โ
Avalon was ever the one who showed all that she was, horns, fangs, power.
It didnโt matter to her.+
of ya think."
He was simply standing, though the openings he had were very few.
"Granted, ya know ya sister far better than me... how about ya tell me, does she still attempt to play the piano with a smile?"
He had every right to be cautious of attack, posture was one of aggression and pride.
โThat sounds like people that need to be either put in their place or culled.โ
She shrugged, and he could smell burning ozone. Her head tilting a bit as she looked him over.+
"Yer right, just cause ya got human blood in ya doesn't mean that automatically makes ya a human. Hell, there are plenty full blooded humans that I don't consider human. It's what ya do."
He would be a fool of he wasnt ready for an attack, especially as agitated she was getting.
Two very different schools of thought, her shadow shifted and moved with formless things behind her.
โI feel sheโs wasting her time. Trying to understand something she will never be.โ
She scoffed, u like her sister she had no I l l u s i o n s of what she was. She cared for Briar yes, but humanity was removed from them. Their mother had been human but they were not.
โHuman is what our mother was, we were not born when that still qualified.โ+
wanted to see how far he could get her riled up... but he also remembered what he was told about her. And he was also certain that if he wound up Avalon, Briar would be upset at him. So he had to bite his tongue.
"Tell me... how do ya feel seein' how she is actin'?"
She moved in a f l a s h, the woman standing eye to eye with him, her horns buzzing with static electricity.
โ You intend to show her how to be human. We are not human. Donโt put those thoughts in her head.โ
She growled out, fingers flexing in her agitation.+
"My intent? I mean... yeah I like her. She's interestin', she unintentionally funny, she's like when ya first see a rainbow wantin' to know how somethin' so beautiful happens. Plus... I still owe her a date to a festival."
โOh donโt flatter yourself. She told me about a guy who taught her piano.โ
She crossed her arms as she watched him, โAnd just what is your intent with helping my sister?โ
Her posture was one of curious aggression.
But the c h a r m of her aura never went away.
He couldn't help but let out a chuckle. "Man... yer exactly as yer sister said, her knight"
He then raised an eyebrow, then a smirk.
"So... Briar talks about me? Soooo, what did she say... about me? Does she miss me?"
โMy sister wonโt unless you attack her. I however do not share that same sentiment.โ
She smirked at him, flashing teeth, with fangs that glinted.
Her horns that same blood red as her eyes caught the light.
โAvalon is my name. And you are the man my sister mentioned.โ
Well, that was ominous.
"Depends on the situation, tend to get a bit off guard whenever person shows up outta nowhere"
He focused his eye on her, squinting, then tilting his head, then it hit him.
"Oh shit! Are ya Briar's sister? Ya two have the same sharp eyes that can kill!"
