4/ Credit where it's due: the intuition throughout is Strang's. This is an attempt to carry it to students who stalled on the math. CC-BY 4.0, MIT-licensed code. Feedback welcome. #LinearAlgebra#EconTwitter#OpenEducation#Python
New open-access textbook (Korean): Gilbert Strang's MIT 18.06, rebuilt for econ & social science undergrads.
34 lectures × (theory note + runnable Python notebook) + 60 problems from economics & industry.
Refined over 2 years of teaching 30 students.

3/ The last part flips the direction: 60 problems from economics and industrial engineering where you're given a situation, not a matrix, and have to recognize the linear algebra in it. Plus supplements on PCA/SVD, numerical LA, and graph Laplacians.
2/ Why another set of notes? After teaching 30 undergrads over two years, the two recurring blockers were: (a) reading an equation and forming an intuition for it, (b) actually simulating it. So each lecture comes as a theory note + a numpy/plotly notebook you run line by line.
1/ Sharing an open-access linear algebra textbook I've been building for economics & social science students. It follows Gilbert Strang's 34 MIT 18.06 lectures, in Korean. https://t.co/MMWWCpmaly

🔥 "Does Trend-Following Still Work on Stocks?"
Long-only

Introducing anymap-ts: a new Python package that makes geospatial visualization easy!
Built on MapLibre + TypeScript, anymap-ts brings the same rich mapping experience to both the web and Jupyter Notebook. It supports many popular geospatial formats, including GeoJSON, GeoParquet, FlatGeobuf, PMTiles, COG, Zarr, COPC LiDAR, and Gaussian Splat.
It also includes powerful built-in UI components such as a minimap, bookmarks, print tool, view state manager, STAC search, street view, and geometry editor.

Hi #EconTwitter!
Interested in the #economics and #econometrics of networks?
📚 Check out these two essential reads:
1️⃣ Edited by Bryan Graham (@UCBerkeley) & @PaulaAureo (@UCL) — a deep dive into econometrics of networks.
2️⃣ By Tom Sargent (@nyuniversity) & @john_stachurski (@ANU_Research) — covers economics, graph theory, linear algebra, and more.
Both highly recommended! ⭐️
