hooked claude up to minecraft. one goal, fresh world, kill the ender dragon. normal difficulty because easy felt like cheating (this was a mistake)

the bot libs stopped at 26.1 and i wanted 26.2 so i generated the version data myself off mojang's data generator + viaversion's source. worked first try which was cool

tried local models first. qwen 27b gets stone tools and then just wanders. gemma 4 is faster at wandering. claude opus 5 had iron in 22 minutes and a diamond pickaxe in an hour. so that's where i landed

death count: 32. zombies 13, skeletons 7, creepers 3. three listed as "unknown" which is lava. it was always lava

every death became a rule. no digging next to lava. no walking around at night. don't chase fish. don't fight 5 zombies at 2 hp because the info is 9 seconds old. it went from dying every 10 min to every couple hours which i'm calling progress

7/14 milestones. wood > stone > food > iron > diamond pickaxe > armor > bed. still needs the nether, blaze rods, pearls, stronghold, the actual dragon. still running, posts to a discord every hour so i can watch it die from my phone :)

~7,900 lines of typescript to lose to zombies. worth it. we'll beat that ender dragon one day soon

Fun @claude fact - You can tell claude to archive your old/unused sessions to clean up your claude environment a bit. Pretty sure this works on most other platforms as well

Spent a day reverse-engineering a commercial game cheat loader. It ships as a fully functional qBittorrent - real torrent client, genuine version resource, real seeding traffic. Grafted into it: a kernel driver mapper.

Takeaway for anyone running paid cheats: you are not buying software, you're granting a stranger arbitrary kernel code execution with an auto-update channel.

And iQVW64.SYS is blocklisted for a reason — anything loading it opens a door other malware can walk through too.

Also: it reboots your machine when the game exits. Manually mapped drivers have no clean unload path, so it resets the box instead.
