So posted this Portal VFX some time ago and some people were asking for a tutorial, So tried making one!!!
Here's the link to the Full Tutorial:

Lemme know how was the tutorial!!!
So was messing around and found a way to make a radial Sheer node in Unreal Engine!!

Radial Sheer in UE5 ๐ญ???

So was doing some R&D recently and found a tutorial about how billboarding actually works and how we can split their axis apart!! Thought it'd look cool for a Aura effect!

Saw a tutorial on youtube for pixelating a texture but it was in Unity, So decided to recreate that effect in Unreal Engine! Attached the Node system as well so anyone can recreate it as well!!
If you're on Unity here's the link to the original video:

So was playing around with some things and eventually made this event based curve. Calling the paramter in blueprint and using its values on a dynamic erosion from the material!! This can be used on any curve value in the Niagara system! Lemme know what you think!!!
Tried a 3D plane with a chain material with way less vertices count! The default mesh seems more visually aesthetic but the 3D plane is superior in vertices optimization. Lemme know if it's worth it and if 1006 vertices dont make much of a difference in Niagara FX
Made some changes!!
So recently posted a Dragon Ball Ki effect, I thought it looked a bit chunky so i added some more elements and made the animation a bit lighter! Any suggestions from VFX Artists and Game Devs would be appreciated!
Tried something new!!
My first try on a Aura effect from Dragon ball, Still not complete i plan on adding some more elements, Any suggestions from VFX Artists and Game Devs would be appreciated!!!
Camera offset worked fairly well! Here are both of the effects side by side with one using translucent+Step node and the other Masked+Camera offset. Lemme know which's better and if there's an even better way to achieve this, maybe by pixel depth offset, i couldn't figure it out
Was testing out sorting settings for mesh emitters for a stylized look, But masked blending mode didn't let me sort the mesh behind or in the external mesh, so found a way to use translucent blend mode with masked output with the step node! Lemme know if there is a better way๐ญ
Learnt something new today! Didn't know step node allows you to give the same output as masked blending mode into Translucent! Lemme know if there are any better options๐ญ๐ญ
Prince of Persia Portal in Unreal๐ญ๐ฅ
Was playing prince of persia recently and the portal design was intriguing to me, so i tried making something of the sort in Unreal Engine! Lemme know what you guys think!!
