if people think sukuna couldn't have found a single soul to bond with over the years he was alive, i think they're giving him too little credit. i don't buy the idea that he was some lonely man desperately wishing someone would accept him. if anything, i think he probably did meet people who could have understood or accepted him, and he chose not to let them in.
the only time rejection could've truly mattered was when he was a child, when he was an outcast and still forming as a person. after that? i genuinely don't think he cared anymore. he carved out his own path and embraced it completely. attachment would've only gotten in the way of the life he wanted to live.
people love to frame him as tragically lonely, but i don't see it that way. he isn't lonely because he's missing something. he's alone because that's exactly how he chose to exist. he wasn't searching for someone to save him or complete him. by the time we know him, that part of him was long gone... yes, sukuna is a tragic character. as a person, he was missing a lot of pieces, but the important part is that he didn't feel like he was. that's where people often miss the point. he was content with the life he chose because, to him, that was simply who he was.
his tragedy isn't that he spent his life longing for love or acceptance. it's that, in his own mind, strength was all that truly mattered. everything else was secondary, disposable, or meaningless. that's what makes him tragic to US, not to him. sukuna himself didn't see it as a loss, he didn't give a fuck.
