@BustMidas Potion. It has more methods of application, as much as effects. Spill, spike, drink, splash, bathe, etc.
With a ray, you're shooting it, someone else is shooting it, or it's going off accidentally.

Tried an Eldritch Monster Girl transformation. Went quite body horror, freaky and unbalanced, which fits the theme, but not a design I'd draw again honestly.
