Me when writing: I am a genius, this is a masterpiece.
Me when editing: This is trash. Why did I make him purr?
I will post it anyway because I like attention ๐ #WritingCommunity
@omgsidewalks Oh, that one time the Pope wrote his encyclical against AI, which was around 200 pages, we discussed it with my heavily pro-AI coworker and he said, "I bet he used AI to write that much."
It's been only 42,000 words.
@ChateauBaconLLC I think it's becoming one of those AI tics. Along with "you will be the death of me". Simply can't look at the book the same way if I spot these because of how often they appear in AI slop.
@alizehsfate There's writing for sale, and there's writing for art, and it's sometimes hard to merge the two styles. Kinda the same with pop musicโlots of fairly similar beats, not much innovation.
By the way, this is a life saviour for ADHD writers.
If you are ADHD and having a hard time writing, trust me, pomodoro body doubling will work like magic.
@mybooklists I like the pomodoro timer count. 25 minutes writing, 5 minutes pause, rinse and repeat. It's easier to write for such small chunks of time. And when it's hard to start, I use body doubling videos with pomodoro writing. Genuinely helpful!

I have a script writer background, so dialogue is my strong suit ๐ Some of my scenes are just lines with minimal or no description, and there's just something so immersive in it.
@iamblueiphy It makes the writer's job infinitely harder, but yeah. Artificial conflict just doesn't feel convincing. What if people were genuinely trying to hear eachother AND failing? Effort alone might sometimes not suffice, and there's so much tragedy in that.
