I found a really neat minecraft mod called "3D Maps"
when a map placed in an item frame it creates a small 3D render of the map
I could totally see this being a vanilla feature one day, it's a great way to show off builds
“In string theory, all particles are vibrations on a tiny rubber band; physics is the harmonies on the string; chemistry is the melodies we play on vibrating strings; the universe is a symphony of strings.”

A PYTHON IS SWALLOWING THE PYTHON WIKIPEDIA PAGE RIGHT NOW
everyone knows web crawlers, spiders that crawl the internet link by link
i built a python instead
it doesn't crawl a page, it swallows it
it slides down from the title, and every word it touches peels off and follows it down the page
it runs on python, asyncio, aiohttp and beautifulsoup
32 workers, all hunting at the same time
it grabs the parts worth eating: headings, text, tables, charts, version history, every figure gets saved the second it slides past
menus and sidebars stay where they are
every link it's already swallowed goes into a set, so it never eats the same page twice
halfway down the page there's a python web crawler in the code examples, and my python slides right over it
then it hits the zen of python, "simple is better than complex"
i read that and built a snake anyway
everything it catches comes out as clean json, ready for a database, a dashboard or a training set
spiders crawl the web
pythons swallow it whole
