Google is investing $75M into A24 as part of an AI research partnership between the 2 companies.
They will look at using AI to create new tools for movie production & distribution.

GeoWhenWhere is a spatial quiz that lets you wander through immersive 3D Gaussian splat scenes, then test yourself by pinpointing where they belong on the map and when they fit on the timeline.
NVIDIA just published ArtiFixer. It tackles one of the most frustrating parts of 3D Gaussian Splatting: what happens in areas you didn't capture.
Standard reconstruction falls apart in under-observed regions. Floaters, blurry holes, missing geometry. ArtiFixer patches those gaps with an autoregressive diffusion model that stays consistent with what exists while generating plausible content where there's nothing.
1-3 dB PSNR improvement across all MipNeRF 360 scenes. On some of them, it's the only approach that produces usable output at all. Open source: https://t.co/PKbG6rZNgM
Google Flow ๐ค @GoogleMaps Street View
Your agent in Google Flow can now generate images and videos grounded in @GoogleMaps Street View, giving your scenes real-world details. Whether you are placing characters in a local scene, stylizing a city landmark, or reimagining your favorite neighborhood, your agent references real-world imagery when generating images and videos.
How to get started:
1๏ธโฃ Open the Flow Agent.
2๏ธโฃ Include a specific location in your prompt.
3๏ธโฃ Watch your scene come to life.
๐ Note: Currently available for U.S. Street View locations only.
Unprecedented.
@BrianRoemmele warned everyone for the past two years that the government would take away our AI.
That day just arrived.
Was talking with an entrepreneur in San Francisco who was running Fable to build software and just turned it off while it was building.
Tomorrow night Anthropic is throwing a Fable builders event in San Francisco. I wonder if that event is still going to happen?
This hurts American national security. I know of several companies that were using Mythos to close all of their security holes because it is so powerful at finding weaknesses in software. That effort has not been completed, so there are many companies with many holes still open now.
This throws that effort into question. It also means that China is emboldened because, you know, can you trust an American company to keep their systems up and running if the government is willing to shut them down so abruptly and with no warning?
It also means that open source and running models on your own computers is now very attractive (if it wasn't already). Expect Apple Mac Studio sales to go up.
We teamed up with researchers at Meta @RealityLabs to stress-test what's actually possible with Gaussian Splatting, and especially with volumetric video.
Reconstructing buildings on a sunny day or celebrities in controlled studio conditions has gained a lot of traction. But what if the goal is to bring the viewer to an actual electronic rave, with zero compromises allowed?
High-frequency strobing lights, fog machines filling the space with haze, complete darkness that clips the camera sensors to black. It was brutal, but together we pulled it off. We're proud to present a teaser of our joint project: an actual performance of 'Patience' by NYC electronic duo @membamusic, captured in full volumetric format and optimized for a wide range of devices.
We didn't design this reconstruction around what the tech allows. Instead, we customised our pipeline to make the experience as immersive as possible.
More details coming soon.
Apple now natively supports Gaussian Splats in RealityKit on VisionOS 27.

Current implementation seems capped at 200K points for performance. The resolution also looks a bit scaled down.
