Tory Lanez didn’t just lose a trial.. he was left defenseless by his own lawyer. Shawn Holley had undisclosed ties to Roc Nation, the company managing his accuser, Megan Thee Stallion.

At the time she took his case, Holley was producing a TV show, Reasonable Doubt, which is an homage to Jay-Z. Every episode named after one of his songs and featuring his music. Her daughter is a backup singer for Beyoncé. Holley had also previously represented Roc Nation’s CEO, Desiree Perez, who allegedly advised Tory’s accuser and witnesses.

Tory paid $200k–$300k for defense. Instead, DNA evidence that could prove his innocence was ignored, fake accusations went unchallenged, and Tory’s wishes were ignored. Then, she walked out mid-trial, leaving him defenseless.

These undisclosed ties and failures didn’t just leave him unsupported.. they hampered his ability to access full discovery, present key evidence, and mount a fair defense, severely affecting the outcome of his trial. This isn’t just about a bad lawyer.. it’s power, corruption and hidden ties vs justice.

🚨 DEMOREE HADLEY CASE UPDATE

Desiree Perez has filed a SECOND motion for sanctions, asking the court to hold Demoree and Javon Hadley in contempt for allegedly violating the court’s Special Order regarding extrajudicial statements.

Perez’s team wants additional sanctions, attorney’s fees, removal of social media content, and even deactivation of the Hadleys’ social media accounts as the case moves toward trial.

To support the motion, Perez’s team submitted a report prepared by an investigation firm that analyzes dozens of X accounts followed by Demoree. The report specifically identifies numerous Nicki Minaj supporters, independent commentators, legal commentators, and accounts that have also discussed Tory Lanez. The report argues that discussion about the case was concentrated within that network and that those accounts generated thousands of posts about the litigation.

The filing also highlights two accounts that were later deactivated, DemoreeDocket and vegetabarb, and references allegations that certain account holders allegedly communicated with Demoree before deactivating their pages. Perez’s team argues this supports its theory that third parties were being encouraged to amplify case-related narratives.

What I have not seen so far is direct evidence showing Demoree instructed specific accounts, including mine, to post about the case. The motion appears to rely heavily on follower relationships, posting activity, audience engagement, timing of posts, and the argument that these accounts helped shape public opinion surrounding the litigation.

The report submitted specifically notes that many of the accounts discussing the Demoree case also discuss Tory Lanez and his ongoing legal matters, which Perez’s team cites as evidence of overlapping online communities following both stories.

Demoree’s response is due July 2, 2026. The court will ultimately decide whether any of this rises to the level of sanctionable conduct or whether it amounts to independent third parties exercising their own First Amendment rights.
