How did this con know I 'bank' with you?

They tried to login into my account, by trying to social-engineer their way into getting a code sent to me at some point during the call.

He knew with certainty prior to the call that I would get the code!

An example could be: 0729-MUTINDA-658. This would still verify the transaction but protect the user's identity.

If the answer is "No," which I suspect it would be, then I believe there is a significant issue that needs addressing.

Instead of displaying the full phone number, could we consider a more privacy-conscious approach, such as displaying only a part of the number?
