It is appalling and unprecedented that a former President, trying to be a future President, would demand that leaders of his party sabotage and abandon a bipartisan bill to address the border issue, asking to keep it going so he could blame the current President and take credit for "solving" it later.

Let's be clear: that is tantamount to TREASON.

It's like asking a boxer to take a dive.
It's like asking a basketball player to shave points.
It's like asking members of Congress NOT TO DO THE JOBS THEY WERE ELECTED FOR.

It's wrong for the person asking for it.
It's wrong for the Senators agreeing to it.

No matter what party you belong to, it's WRONG.

If President Obama were to ask a future Democratic Senate to blow up a bill so that a Republican President gets the blame, Republicans would be freaking the fuck out, and rightfully so.
