Middle Grade fiction is about empathy and self-love. A reader experiences someone else's perspective and recognizes parts of themself. When a book is challenged ask, "Who do they not want others to feel empathy for? Which children do they not want to feel good about themselves?"
I got a $1000 grant to purchase books based on the authors and series that my 5th graders love. This is how I spent the first few hundred dollars. https://t.co/WK6sCk1GX5
A week ago, I was introduced to the podcast School Librarians United. In 7 short days, I’ve already learned so much! Never enough thanks to @HermonAmy for what she has created! Bonus was meeting her today in grad class and learning from her first hand! 💕
@Boss_Librarian is a dream! A week ago I listened & presented to my grad class about a podcast episode #goodtrouble. Today my professor set up for her to come and speak to our class. Finding out quickly how amazing the librarian community is. 💕
Public schools are not failing students.
Public school teachers are not failing students.

Beyond thrilled and excited to share the educator guide for @JackieWoodson's picture books written by @TchKimPossible! Get activities, discussion questions, prompts, and more to bring these three incredible books into your classroom!
