Yesterday MA students @UofA_EFS officially launched their multimedia project, Voices of the Dead to the Living, which engages with the Orlando textbase among many exciting resources. Congratulations to all!
✨A big thank you to everyone who turned out for our Zine Launch Event!✨
We had an amazing afternoon showcasing our work in front of such a receptive audience!❤️
We'd like to give a special thanks to our panelists, Dr. Katherine Binhammer, Dr. Joycelyn Moody, and Dr. Julie Rak for lending their expertise to our event, as well as to our sponsor APIRG, who provided the funding that made it all happen.
On behalf of the team, thank you!🙏
📖Less than a week left before the big day!🎉
✨Join us on April 17th at 3:00 PM in the Salter Reading Room (Humanities Center 3-95, University of Alberta) for our Zine Launch event! (sponsored by @apirg )✨
By funding projects such as ours, APIRG helps to facilitate positive social change, giving student-led initiatives the chance to shine in the public sphere. You can find out more about APIRG, and their mission, at their website: https://t.co/Cn9p8iTaU9
We’d like to take this opportunity to throw a big thank you to our sponsor: the Alberta Public Interest Research Group (APIRG) @apirg. Thanks to their generous grant, we were able to expand the scope of our project beyond our original vision!
And maybe that’s where the power of our visibility now lies; in the fact that those trans and non-binary people who come after may see us.
That they may draw strength and hope from the fact that
we lived
have lived
are living

Happy International #TransDayOfVisibility !
To all our trans and non-binary siblings the world over: we hope you find love, happiness, and safety!
From the trans and non-binary members of our project, a few thoughts 🧵/?:
