Anas Sarwar's emergence from hiding was carefully managed by BBC Scotland. An interview with Gary Robertson that avoided the most damaging paedophile aspects of recent scandals followed by a Reporting Scotland item heavily edited to make Sarwar appear principled and honest.

No mention of civil war, division or splits. No mention of Sarwar's friendship with Peter Mandelson. No mention of Pam Duncan-Glancy. No mention that Sarwar publicly backed Starmer just days before demanding he quit.

This was a staged reappearance intended to distance Sarwar from the man he has supported for twenty months and to protect the branch manager from his own previous blunders. In short, propaganda dressed up as news.
